  1. Ive used them on a heavier shakey-head. That tail sticks STRAIGHT UP. It is a pretty cool bait.
  2. Rod: *** 7'3" medium action Reel: daiwa exceler crankbait Soft: Rage tail Toads Hard: Lucky craft Kelly J - baby bluegill Wire: 4 pack BOSS wood walker jig heads (to add custom skirts)
  3. Crazy! i caught a largemouth on a frog 2 weeks ago in open water about 20 feet off the bank. Didnt know the water temp, but the air temp was about 35 and it was raining, that was awesome
  4. Just turned 18! this sounds great! I'm in!!
  5. some of my best jerkbait spots are by boat landing or other steep banks. When a jerkbait bite is on, I will catch fish in areas i usually skip or get skunked at. Throw a jerkbait everywhere you can!
  6. I went our last weekend for a few hours on both sat and sunday. I primarily used a BOOYAH pad crasher frog. I casted parallel to the bank about 10-20 feet off the shore, and worked that frog SLOWWWW. It was exactly like fishing a suspending jerkbait, except you could see your lure. cast, let sit for 20 seconds. 1 twitch 10 seconds 2 twitches 15 seconds 1 twitch 10 seconds. I got a bite within my first five casts on saturday and caught one an hour or so later that day. I also got a hit sunday, but that was it that day. Fishing slow can be lots of fun too.
  7. Kinda tough, I'm shorebound only but i can still manage a few. Lately, my Northern pike to bass ratio has been about 1:1, in fact I caught 1 pike and 1 bass last time i went out. The northern scared me too, it was the first fish i caught on my new Mcstick jerkbait and its teeth frayed my line bad but I got it back
  8. Gamakatsu's flippin hooks suck, the keeper never stays on, I used super glue, but they still only last a few fish on the water. They even made new hooks with an *improved wire keeper* but I heard it still falls off.
  9. i persuaded my best friend to come bass fishing with me, (he had never gone fishing except for trolling huge spoons for trout when he was a little kid). I decided to start him out with a senko, he wasin complete doubt that a fish would even go near it.I tried to explain how to fish it, but i ended up making a cast to make a demonstration. I caught a bass on that cast and he was pretty excited. he caught like 5 bass that day and although he doesnt fish much, he is a senko freak. My vote goes to senko's
  10. "he hit it on the fall" " just bumped it" "no less than 65lb braid!"
  11. "the monster" swim jig
  12. x2 I've lately even had success with a zoom centipede, caught 10 punching it in about 2 hours
  13. I'd expect like $10-20 or even more for highly detailed cranks
  14. I said 20, but its gonna be more soon because i won a silver medal package jig set through one of Northstar custom baits's facebook contests
  15. A jig can be used on every spot in the description, in murky water i leave the skirt full and add a big trailer like a pitboss. dark colors like junebug/black&blue work for me in murky water. A senko would also be a good choice I'd stick with dark colors here too.
  16. I like power-pro Ive had no problems, I landed a 42 inch northern pike on 10lb Power Pro Its fairly cheap too, like 15 dollars for 150 yards and 25 for 300
  17. I can cast a lot further with braid, and the no stretch gives me a better hook up ratio. If the water is clear i just pop on a flouro leader
  18. Agreed, but if i had to say a number id throw a 5 out there which is still pretty good, since I'd say the chances of it hitting the frog again is about 1 or 2 out of 10
  19. 6'6" MH rod. If your fishing from shore, nothing is better, but if you're on a boat, you may want to up the length to 7'
  20. shades of green pumpkin and watermelon seem to be the best for my crystal clear water, My favorite murky water lure however is a black and chartreuse jig with a junebug pitboss on the back.
  21. I have an A-rig but idk if I will find the right time and place this year to throw it, also I kindof wanted to buy the lateral perch sunfish imitating jigs.
