  1. I tried the 5in monney minnows, never caught anything. Maybe since i live in michigan i should get some smaller ones lol. I have caught tons of fish on luckestike bass magic swimbaits"3.5" none on the 4.5 and none on a 5inch berkely hollow belly...i bought a pack of 3.5 in shadalicious when my 3.5 bass magics ran out... they werent the same, the shadilicious was made with too firm plastic, not very flexible and an almost nonexistent action...
  2. 1. go ice fishing 2. make sure you bring a fish tv! im talkin about those underwater cameras that are shaped like a fish, man those things are awesome! im sixteen and im super excited when i see bluegill, bass or pike on that thing! its like a whole new type of fishing.
  3. i was a bank fisherman, we bough a boat and i got to go once, i caught some fish offshore near a crappie crib and a floating dock, i caught 5 or so and hooked a few more, not a fish i hooked was under 14" and one i hooked (and lost)on a series 6 crank was 17" easy... that was just one day though, i figured i got lucky, does fishing out of a boat make that big of a difference?
  4. ive been wondering if my part of wisconsin is cursed in not having any big bass, my biggest bass this year is in my avatar, and its just over 16" and even tho he was a fattie, im guessing weighs around 2 1/2 pounds my biggest i have ever caught was 18 1/2" and probly 3 sumthin pounds... the average size of fish i catch is 12-13" well, what are your guys' average and whats your Personal Best?
  5. yes, lots of walleye fisherman use jigs with small propellers on them, the only bad thing is that, ofcourse like every other walleye jig, the hook shank is pretty short and the only colors they come inare hot pink, bkaze orange, chartreuse, etc. >
  6. i had a game called "Top Angler" and that game was exxtremely fun! all the lures did exactly what they were supposed to do the only thing is that in every fishing game you can catch a fish on a crankbait without it hitting anythig
  7. i think that if you buy 30 "other lures" to 10 lc's you'll just be wasting money on lures that will never touch water... i rarely use hardbaits anyways so when i do i like to have a bait i know will work well, usually a pointer 78,or a miniSKT...in a natural pattern...also when u spend 2-3X more on a lure it gives you "a mental confidence boost"... i dont use lc deepdivers or lipless cranks because you "usually" use them in deep or murky water when the fantastic finishes of lc baits arent as critical...
  8. there are so many jerkbait styles, models, and brands out there, the are all different and work better than the rest in certain conditions- thats why there are so many..but it just gets mind-boggling trying to figure out which one to use over the next jerkbait. so my question is when? when should use pointer over a rouge, or an x-rap over a vision 110, or a lc slender pointer over a lc flashminnow?
  9. i know what they are, and i know what they do... but what are some better *affordable* models, and when/where are the best times/places to use/ look in more depth at them? ;D
  10. yep thats pretty much all there is to it, i deadstick plastics mostly, i used the yum doozee(a long slender tube) the 6 inch version, worked very well, i caught bass from 8 in to 18 in. just letting it sit there, up to eh maybe 1 min max- i cant stand it after that ( even though some wait much much longer) , i give it just a little twitch or two about 20-30 secs into it and wait another 20-30...then reel in and cast again. *added scent will improve your strike AND catch ratio
  11. More colors i found that i bought a while ago... the first is a series one, in a "bleeding sexyshad pattern" Double click the first picture the 2nd is a series 4s, which to me looks like a "chartreuse shad with red glittered back"
  12. ok so i bought these strike king cranks, in a 3$ bin at gander mountain, and they are in colors ive never seen in these baits. both are series 5, the first one is a sexy shad with a rash(lol) that i bought in... march? and the 2nd is chrome with a black back, i bought that saturday. my question for you is: whats with the colors? theyre not listed in the strike king virtual catalog, and i havent seen them on any site, or any other store... are they gander mountain exclusives? Or maybe strike king "experimental colors" that they decided not to produce? i like the colors, just thought it would be a good topic what are your thoughts??
  13. ive caught them on a blade of grass before ;D a better lure i use is by ripping one of the tube tails off of a tube and putting it on a small hook.
  14. my favorite topwater lure!!
  15. How about ice fishing.... Doesn't provide the same thrill as bassin'. My son loves it though and it doesn't offer some fine meals. Of course it isnt the same, but here in the frozen tundra it gets us through the winter agreed! its not the same, but i really can get fun and crappie, bluegill and perch in the frying pan doesnt sound none too shabby to me

  20. Ok so, i was surfing youtube and found this video it looks like a good idea, i tried one today, didnt get even close to a bite on it(haha) but i like the way it fishes. To me, this is one of those "why didnt i think of this" things. what do you guys think?
  21. today i went three hours without a fish so much as breathe on my lures.... i eventually got bit, but i was using an ironclad bait that really f'd up the hookset, im not using them anymores haha...oh well, laugh it off. had fun anyways ^__^V
