  1. Anyone here belong to a bass club in the Chicagoland area? Preferably south sides/suburbs?
  2. I know the guys that give the presentations here in bolingbrook, IL (chicago) are local pro's. They are actually great sources of information on local waters with patterns and colors
  3. I dont know how to turn one into a bass junkie but i know how to turn one into a snow blower or a dish washer. Just hand her a snow shovel or dish rag respectively. Disclaimer: This was a joke
  4. Boats still in storage. I dont feel so bad now
  5. Never fished Big Mich but wouldn't mind giving it a shot. Keep me posted
  6. Got 200E7s for $140 cash at the anglers out stand in one of the small gym. If you use a credit card, he'll charge you $144. That price doesnt include tax but i bought myself 2 more! They are priced at his stand for $148. Just tell him you can find them online for a 140 and ask him to match it they will. Same deals on E5s, Mik lurch's booth was pretty dissapointing.
  7. ANy Takers?? Ill be there in 30 mins
  8. I can say i have fished shelbyville and will probably be my main lake this spring/early summer. Ive always fished out near the coves in lithia but not with much luck. We had to rent boats from the marina so they were all underpowered and undersized. I wont run across that problem anymore. I got myself a tourny sport 175. Cant wait to drop that thing in and open it up full throttle. When is your first trip down there? like i said I have fished it but not properly. Shoot me a pm.
  9. IF your lookin to spend soooome coin you could get yourself a new reel out of the deal too! BPS has a promo going for a free pair of wiley x Zaks or P17s with the purchase of an abu garcia reel over 169.99. Get yourself a new winch and top notch glasses for 215 w/ tax. Thats what i did!
  10. That 10hp restriction is definitely annoying. Instead of the hp restriction they should make all those lakes "no wake" Or put a speed limit. Braidwood and heidecke are both 40mph
  11. LOL. I start to wish my boat had a 3.5 on it. 3/4's of the d**n lakes in IL have a 10 hp restriction on it. They discriminate against my one fitty.
  12. What are you specifically lookin for? Last year i picked up a curado and a crucial and i saved $60 on the pair off of the list price at the stand. If i remember correctly the rod was listed cheaper than bps. A drive from Morris isnt that bad. I drive from oak forest to plainfield everyday. Its held in a high school and from what i read its completely booked. I think its worth a trip but hell, ive been goin there since i was a kid. You will find pretty decent deals on tackle.
  13. I always start my stock up there. Plan on pickin up a couple more curados this year from the mik lurch stand. Ill be there saturday when it opens and sunday wen it closes!
  14. 6lb trilene smooth cast. I picked up trilene sensation in the 6# and was quite impressed with it last year. Not sure if I am going to go that route again or give the new trilene transoptic a shot. Cant go wrong w/a 6# trilene product in my eyes.
  15. Any of you locals plan on making a trip on over there? Usually can find a bunch of tackle at good pricing. Always has a decent shore lunch too!
  16. That darn HP restriction..... powerton has no hp limit... what do you mean?? Please forgive me, had a brain fart there. I was thinking newton with the hp restriction.
  17. That darn HP restriction.....
  18. Have any of you fished the Illinois or kankakee rivers? What is your first boat trip planned in IL?
  19. You could cast like that too if you had a 1-1/4 oz+ lure on.
  20. any of you guys fish the kankakee river?
  21. I know Plano makes all of their storage systems. I was just at their outlet store today in Plano, IL. All the plastic bait storage is plano.
  22. Cooling lakes in the joliet area (braidwood, heidecki, lasalle) cedar lake in indiana and vermillion in danville which is a hike.
  23. I noticed I sent you a PM a couple of days ago. I thought u were a buddy of mine but he didnt sign up yet and he rarely fishes with out me so when i read monee res. i knew it wasnt him. What part of the FO u in?
  24. I also fish Shelbyville a couple of times a year. Sty at the Lithia Springs Resort. Nancy runs a tight ship. I live in Frankfort just south of you. Maybe we can get together some time. Also fish Braidwood and Mazonia/ Ponderosa. I've only fished braidwood twice last season. I got my boat late in the season. When you going to Lithia this year? Ive always camped. My friends are out of college and still cheap as hell. I have never fished anything but cooling lakes in the area and wet a line or two in local stuff like sedgewick (orland park), ponds in OF and tampier. I might go to Shelbyville to help drop the xmas trees in. IM undecided yet and want to see what the weather is going to bring
  25. As a kid i had always heard that it was a dirty place so i have never fished it. I had considered asking the guy i bought my boat off of to run it in there but I've seen a bunch of debris and ignorant boaters out there so i stayed away. I had a chance to check out the boat show at bps and there was a guy that gave tips on local fishing spots and he talked about it being pretty good if you launch out by 141st & torrence. The pro was a real nice guy. You had much luck?
