Went camping at don pedro this weekend. We generally do good when we camp over there. We didn't bring the boat because people always want to go on and it gets stressful. But anyway,with all this snow and rain, the lake has almost filled to full pool, so all the grass on the banks is underwater.The last 2 trips the lake was at a lot lower level so it was rocky,and pretty good. I caught 2 5 pounders on one trip. But this time that vegetation was skrewy. I didn't catch a single fish.Any tips for fishing it?tried spinnerbaits crankbaits worms and even swimming a jig

Ha i replaced the Senko. I use the strike king ocho. It lasts SO MUCH LONGER,it catches more fish, they're cheaper, more slender, they're easier to rig, and they smell like coffeeeeeee

Mine is my PB largemouth cause of the story. I had bought a new frogging stick and we went to the delta 2 or 3 times on my birthday weekend ( November). The last day was pretty good and i started throwing a white stanley ribbit frog around cover and over mats towards the end of the day. All that time my friend and my dad kept saying "You're not gonna catch anything on it just give up".I would continue to use it and my dad said "I swear if you catch something on that today I'm freaking mounting it". Well, we decided to fish the docks when we were about to leave. Each set of docks has some cover and grass mats at the back. There was a stump sticking out of the water. I took a cast with the frog and i wasn't paying attention when out of know where a 3 lber comes 4 feet in the air with it and i yell "Woohoo!Frog fish bab....it came off. I was a little irritated and my dad was laughing. We tried one more set of docks. About 10 to 15 minutes of daylight left. I take a few casts with the frog on that mat, pumped up now. On about my 3rd cast, an 8 pounder jumps 3 or 4 feet all the way out of the water with my frog, it hit right when that frog got almost to the edge of the mat into open water. It's a buzz frog too, you know the kind with the paddley legs?I'm completely stunned, but when this fish hits the water, i set that hook like no other.I feel her goin through those and she has my rod bent over the side, strippin' drag from my diawa. This thing was a freight train. i'm worrying that she might get off. After about a 2 minute battle, i work her around the motor and she's on her side. My friend grabs the net and starts tripping over poles. Gt your freakin butt over here! i was yelling at him. He nets the fish and when he lifts up, she thrashes and almost leaps out, but he kept it going up so she stayed in.My legs were a shakin and i see that big hawg mouth. I grab her lip and Dananananant! i lifted that beast up in complete amazement. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!Wooohooooo!Suck it!Suck it!Yaaaaaaa! i'm just goin off on my friend and my dad.I guess they were right...i wouldn't catch a fish off of that frog.... i would catch a MONSTER! ;D. I gave them alot of crap...and i still do . We took pictures and filmed the release, i will put that on youtube shortly . That was all in the last 10 minutes of day light... i couldn't believe that catch!My dad yelled happy birthday when i brought her in hehehe. I remember when i got in the truck and we were pulling the boat out of the water i told my dad "You know how you said you'd mount a fish if i caught one on that frog?Well, i think that one would actualy be worthy of mounting ;D.This was November 2008

Winter fishing.When there's a slight cold wind in the winter and we are drop shotting on new melones and it's really slow i will sometimes lay down my rod and take a nap

We used to use windows dvd maker but it sucked you couldn't even use songs you bought off itunes.This ones easier to make,you can use music from anything, more transition options, you can put videos in pictures like i did, you can control just rverything. You can even have 2 songs going on at one time. You can make each picture last as long as you want and decide what point in the video you want to stop the video and start it.its very organized too ;D

I use snaps on my main baitcasting set up. Use them on jigs swimbaits, crankbaits, and i use them for topwater on my topwater set up. They make things less stressful since you can switch that fast, plus they can enhance the lures action

My first time at Clear Lake a couple years ago, before i really knew much. I had been really getting into bass fishing about 6 months prior to that, so again i didn't know a whole lot.The only thing i used back then was a 4 inch curly tail roboworm. Well,anyway, my cousin and I were in belly boat,fishing the tulles along the state park. We came to this point, and i felt some sluggishness, so i set the hook. My rod was bent and i reeled about 4 times before my line snapped. It was from 6 to 8 pound test (mono) and i have a feeling that thing ran right into the tulles. Had i been like i am today, i would have flipped that switch on the reel so it could pull out line and tried playing it. Ha i remember getting so mad at my cousin and blamed it on him because he was the one who tied the knot. Always gotta find an excuse

I know wiley x are awesome and used in combat but im pretty sure oakleys are too. Ive watched youtube videos where they do tests on them and they take a lot

I'm with you. Maybe I'm sick, but everytime the bass wins I feel a sense of calm and equality. Roger Haha really?if I have a little one come off i laugh and don't care, if a good 2 and a half to 3 pounder comes off tis like awwww man, and if a pig comes off its **** *** ****************! and then i start making really fast casts and my mind replays it about a thousand times

I'm getting a pair of Oakley straight jackets soon.Do any of you have any Oakleys? I know theyre top of the line glasses but i'd like to hear it from other fisherman's perspective besides KVD

New melones just had an 18 pounder. And i think California can pull it off 8-)i mean come on 20 of the top 25 largemouth ever caught have been caught out of California

How DARE you!lol. No i want my flippin and pitchin and froggin and quality bass. Not these stupid 1 pound spots that tear up your finger lol.We have been tearin em up at melones though. In 2 trips we've got around 45 and we've probably missed 60 haha. all been in the same spot too theyre stacked up
