  2. When it rains........just keep this in the back of your head.Actualy watch half the video too
  3. :-? I don't like the negative vibes coming from your welcome you should rewelcome him in a happier way ;D
  4. ;D Hello CA brother!!!!Welcome
  5. I use 8lb trilene on my spinning set up and its the only light mono i like.Pline sucks never get it. But ive brought 5 pounders through the thicket and lots of goodsize fish over and over without retying and its fine.Although i do reccomend retying. My dad has caught 8 and 9s on 6lb before.Look at Ray Scott he's caught 10 lbers on 4 lb test.Just gotta have good line,a good set up, and know how to play em right
  6. The only time I've seen fish do this was when i was fly fishing up in the mountains about a year ago and these 2 nice sized trout were just chasing eachother in a neverending circle
  7. I like the Bass Pros or Pro Team Journal the best. For fun fishing, I prefer Jimmy Houston 8-)
  8. lmao. I use 2lb dia braid. The small diameter is just as important to me as the sensitivity. x2 Since switching to a braid mainline, it is like a whole new world. I understand the sensitivity in braid is nice, but I don't use braid for anything but musky. I feel like I am tossing rope out there, even with a fluro leader. Confidence thing I guess. It is either 12 pound mono for most situations (have even caught a 43'' musky on it, no leader) or lighter if I am using spinning gear. I know I will get lit up for this, I just don't see the need unless fishing for money. Then maybe it is 20pound big game. To each his own... :-X LMAO=small rope. Yep.To each his own. I can't stand to feel like I'm fishing with a rubber band with no sensitivity only mushy feeling. It boils down to the fact that I fish braid mostly for everything. On the flip side, if your used to using mono all the time then braid seems too weird. I prefer braid for heavy cover set ups i dont like it for anything else.I have it on my flippin stick,my frog rod, and then i have fluorocarbon on my main baitcast set up,mono on my topwater rod, and mono on my spinning set up
  9. Everytime i cast a drop shot more than 10 feet, like to the point where u drag it instead of hoppinbg it,i get snagged AALLLL THE TIME.But my grandpas friend will drag it just as much as the normal drop and pop way and he does really well that way
  10. Fluke. Can't go wrong with a stickbait like a Senko or Ocho. Bringing a spinnerbait through them might trigger a strike to,depending on how thick it is
  11. I've caught Largemouth,Redeyes, gazzillions of Spots, and we have got occasional Smallie on them. It depends in what region your in.The drop shot is a highly effective rig
  12. =) sounds like somethin i would do thanks
  13. Hahaha one time in the delta i retied and forgot to close my bail when i threw my rig over the side of the boat when i was done tying and when i close it and started reeling back up my rod started to bend and there was something pulling and it was a nice bluegill lol he's in my goldfish pond now
  14. ha ive caught 2 so far in the delta on crankbaits but i probably just went through their beds and happened to snag them in the mouth
  15. i hope he killed it if those things get in the delta im gonna be pi$$ed
  16. Its that ramp really close the clear lake oaks area i think. Our cabin we rented is past rattlesnake island
  17. Hahaha nice.ive flipped a roboworm over to a big bullfrog in a pond before and i caught him hahaha
  18. I KNOW THIS SHOULD BE IN THE OTHER SPECIES FORUMS BUT PEOPLE DONT LOOK IN THERE AS MUCH I NEED IMMEDIATE HELP SO PLEASE MODERATORS DONT DELETE THIS OR MOVE IT.Alright we are leaving to Clear Lake Tuesaday for a week and duh we are going for the bass but we rented a really nice place and it has a really nice lighted dock so at night when we're back relaxing from the bassin' id like to go for some clear lake Crappies and other panfish maybe some catfish.Suggest any lures or anything like that and techniques please? Thanks ;D
  19. Alright we are leaving to Clear lake from june 1 to june 5 so i have until tuesday to get this helpful info so do any of you have any tips for right now weve only fished this lake a few times so give some spots we can make big runs as long as we get to some fish so ANYTHING WILL HELP EVEN REPORTS THANK YOU
  20. He's probably using it because the frog is to light to cast effectively with a baitcaster. He's also probably using braided line and a heavier rod/reel setup. ..I would think But again, you can throw really light things on a baitcasting set up. Iv used pretty small frogs on my frogging stick. But i think itd be easier to cast effectivily with that frog in a kayak situation like hes in
  21. BassPro96 cause id like to smoke him 8-)
  22. Thats not really a mistake. It can be great to try new things very often, but occasionaly it can be bad. But i think fishing too fast can be a problem
  23. Idk ive never fished it.I wonder if its filled up at all with all this rain and snow this year.I remember it got so shallow a few years back where it was 5mph zone through the whole lake.My couzin lives in sacremento and about 2 years ago and there was like an ancient sunken bridge that came out of all the shallow water and it was the first time it had been out of the water in a super long time or something
  24. flame thrower Haha you should try that mosquito shield thing from Off i think that u clip on your pants
  25. That was a very cool strike. The spinning tackle he was using looked like it was up to the job. It probably would not be my choice, but I don't know how light one of those little frogs are. they look bigger than a spro or a snag proof to me.Still, if u set it up right, u can throw really light stuff on a baitcaster. I coudn't imagine using frog with a spinning reel lol.But he may have his own reasons so :-? who knows haha
