  1. I do, every single day. I try to do the same. Burly, how about starting a 500 thread?? Call me a wussy but I'm looking forward to seeing how Danica does in the Nationwide race. IMHO, she did a great job in her ARCA debut.......going from last to 6th among some very veteran drivers. I love NASCAR but have no, one, favorite driver. I just want to see good racing. Cant wait for sunday.
  2. I intentionally stay up later than normal pulling my gear together and prepping everything. I like to sleep until the last minute, jump in the truck and GO. Having to think about anything before my first coffee and launching the boat could be hazzardous I tend to get to the boat ramp way to early most of the time :
  3. I'll do my best to scare them away with my Ratt L Trap technique
  4. OK, now I have to take a ride down there!! When we go that direction, we hit Camp Mack or the very shallow but fun to fish, Lake Rosalie.
  5. Although I have a 21 and 36, I prefer the 1911 based guns. Here's a "Munchkin Blaster" that Gunsmith, Dave Erikson posted on our knife and gun forum a while back. IMHO, it's the perfect concealed carry 1911 based .45
  6. Dipping Grizzly after a cup or two of coffee makes me too jittery to work or fish properly. Cafeinated dip would proably not work for me. The only time I can enjoy dip is after I'm done working or fishing, with a beer or two. My Bro in law, drinks coffee and Mt Dew all day so he'd probably love it. :
  7. Subway sammiches, water, sugar free sports drinks, jerkey, peanuts, energy bars. Beer.........sometimes.
  8. I'd be interested in hearing about this lake as well. I've driven past it on 60 about a million times but have never checked it out. Anyone know about the boat ramp or facilities there?? I need to take a recon trip on the motorcycle.
  9. Very nice. I'm really diggin these balsa baits some of you guys are making here. I know guys that worked for Bagley in Winterhaven and always loved those baits as well.
  10. FL Knifemaker replied to kodak's topic in Fishing Tackle
Waveworm tiki sticks are my favorite and they have a slow fall speed. Same here. I always do better with Tiki's.
  11. I'm deadicating a full time rod to a lipless crankbait this season. I always say that I'm only going to take one rod out with me but I always change my mind at the last minute ;D I appreciate the suggestions. I'd really like to catch a 5lb+ on one or just have a productive day with a defined pattern and I'd be very happy.
  12. I have one of those in the somewhat flashier "Blue Shiner" color. My buddy got it at ICAST somehow I need to take it out of the box and get it wet
  13. I have no idea. Honestly, I prefer the round ones.
  14. Those are beautiful!! Very nice work. I sent you a PM!
  15. Only if you hit him in the ear
  16. Ya but you'll always find someone from the left that wants to debate 8-)
  17. Nice one!! And I've been crying about the cold down weather down here :-[
  18. Hmmmmmm.......... Weighing it at 12+ lbs would make it rather heavy as a hunting rilfe. I love the gun though
  19. It's rather chilly here this week as well. No snow though.
  20. The .50 cal AR variants would make a great deer rifle but they are expensive is so is the ammo. The Beowulf has the same balistics as a 45-70. I've seen them at the SHOT Show and they are beautifully made. IIRC, our coast guard uses them as entry weapons. http://www.alexanderarms.com/beowulf.htm
  21. I'm in Lakeland. I've tried ripping them over, through and around hydrilla! Honestly, I've tried all the techniques the pros use on TV. I've even tried techniques the local pros use and have good results with. It's like a curse!! What would you suggest as the best lure in the best color that's IDIOT proof for my location?? I can make any other lure or technique work........at least to the point where I'm happy with the results. Lipless baits are by far the weak link in my arsenal. It will be my focus this year to improve this!! EDIT: Sorry, I missed you're color recommendation. It's kind of a feel bait, you have to stick with it and once you get a a fish to bite remember how you were fishing, If you ever want to come to the west coast let me know and Ill take on lake tarpon and I can show you some stuff. I appreciate the offer and would love to pay you a visit some time! After looking at Georges website I realized another thing that doesn't ever seem to work for me is the fire tiger colors. I had much better results fishing that color when I lived in NY years ago :-/
  22. I really should spend a day with my son and George at the Stick Marsh! Lipless crankbaits only, all day!!
  23. Well then the answer is to have your evil black rifle coated in a nice, friendly camo pattern and everything will be good

  25. Most states have a magazine capacity rule for hunting. IMHO, hunting with a black rifle is fine if you use the required lower capacity magazines. .223 is not a very good deer round but these days there are plenty of AR's built for much larger calibers. An AR10 in .308 would be perfect. The "Going Rambo" concept as a hunter probably won't earn you points with most respectable, law abiding hunters alot of people dont like the idea of a assault rifle in the woods, and a ar15 or m16 is a assault rifle, no matter the mag capacity. If your gun is legal, you abide by the mag capacity rules and you use a caliber that will kill efficiently, I wouldn't worry about what other people think. I hunt hogs here in FL with a black, pistol grip, automatic 12 gauge using slugs. No one raises and eyebrow. I use a mag tube plug to be certain I'm legal.
