  1. I wonder if BPS & Abu are having their rods made in the same place? The CarbonLite lengths & actions seem similar to the Vendettas. I'm pretty impressed with the weight and feel of the 6'9" Vendetta I have so I'll check out these new rods when they're available.
  2. I like 15# Triple Fish perlon for fishing jigs, plastics and spinnerbaits. I think the diameter on it is the same as PLine CXXtra stong 12#, not sure what the Seaguar is. I have never broke off the 15# on a bass, although a 4 1/2' gar did break me off with a spinnerbait. Not familiar with either of those rods, but from what I have read about the Zillion rods it should be closer to everyone else's H power. When I first started using jigs regularly I wanted a really stiff rod to fish them, but I have since got more comfortable fishing a jig and want a little tip
  3. I use Eakins jigs 90% of the time, in both 5/16 & 7/16oz. I use either black/blue flash, green pumpkin/green flash, or missouri craw with twin tail grub trailers. Those colors work for me under pretty much any conditions. I don't fish tournaments so I'm looking for numbers not weight. I feel like I catch more fish on smaller jigs, but still catch some big fish. I used to fish a small private lake and got on fish one day that were just stacked up on 2 big laydowns. I never really fished jigs before that so I thought "hey this might be a good opportunity!" I ended up tying on a Strike King Bitsy Bug and using half of a lizard as a trailer. Up until that day I had only caught maybe 2-3 fish on any kind of jig, so I had no confidence. I caught between 65-70 3/4-1 1/4 fish that day and since then it has become my favorite way to fish!
  4. Power Pro braid (don't use braid much anymore), I only use FC on spinning and I've had real good luck with Cabelas 8# 100% FC. The line I use for pretty much everything (other than mid-deep cranks) is Triple Fish 15# clear perlon. The only time I've ever broke off with it was on 4-4 1/2 foot gar. I believe it and the 12# PLine xtra strong are about the same diameter, and if you buy the 3000 yd spool it's about half the price of the PLine.
  5. I like 10" + handles on rods and that normally means at least 7'. Seems like most companies are extendingg the length on rods nows, I guess that's what most people want. I picked up a 6'9" Vendetta a few weeks ago and really like the length on it. I'll have to try a Zillion 6'9" since I really love Daiwa's reel seats.
  6. Steez across the board!!! Im really diggin the pics of the JDM Revos also!
  7. I like twin tail grubs on my jigs.
  8. congrats on the new boat!!!! im like a lot of other folks here, i love the look of the big glass boats but i don't fish anywhere that i need or can use them. i've got a lund 1436mv, hoping to get a 1548 this year.
  9. i haven't bought any in a couple of years but i've used them a lot. when they first come out they were super expensive compared to everything else, but now everybody's sb's seem to be $5-6!!! i bought 5 of the jimmy houston sb's and used them for 2 years. i guess they figured out that was a bad business idea
