  1. Power pro super slick is the quietest braid I’ve found.. and I fish alot of braid
  2. What about the new Caius coming out.. that gonna be there “budget reel”??
  3. I’ve had several different rods over the years here lately I’ve landed with falcons and lews.. I’ve had Abu Garcia veritas fenwick elite techs skeet reese rods shimanos and one of my most favorite rods was a quantum smoke gen 1, wish they still made em like that. Also had some old team all star IM 10’s I wish I would have never got rid of
  4. I use a falcon bucoo 6’6”m perfect for spooks and poppers and i also fish braided line on it
  5. 25lb Berkley trilene big game.. best line I’ve used for flipping.. people gonna say its not sensitive and fish will see it blah blah but never had that problem.. plus your using a 300$ rod sensitivity won’t be a problem..
  6. If you have the money You could invest in the expert line from falcons there actions are a little more legit on the higher end stuff.. cara’s also Not saying the bucoos aren’t great rods there power ratings are a little softer than most companies..
  7. Havent used that particular model but I have several bucoos.. i will say when it comes to falcons there power rating is always a little softer than what it says like heavy is more of a med heavy
  8. Anyone have or have tried these rods.. 79.99 and they gave a 5 year warranty may be worth a shot
  9. Super slick is quieter than most other brands
  10. Don’t mean to jack your post but how big of a deal would it be to replace the reel seat.. I have an old falcon original and I was gonna do the same thing replace the guides but I would also like a little more “modern” reel seat
  11. Pretty much what I’m looking for.. that an Okuma??
  12. Whats a good 8 footer (7’10” 7’11”) thats less than 100$ that can handle some braid.. I asked about the diawa fuego on here and didnt hear good things about it.. any other suggestions
  13. I bought some when they first came out.. gene larew was the first ones i saw. And i bought them for fishing brush piles.. now i like the dirty jigs with the Gamakatsu superline hook. Trailers I usually use are zoom z craws and reaction innovations kinky beaver. I work mine just like a jig
  14. I hear good things about the reels but what about the rods.. I was thinking about getting the 8ft H for a-rigs seeing if anybody has any experience with this particular model
  15. I have a 7’3” heavy falcon bucoo sr.. It is perfect to me for flipping zoom speed craws and z craws with a 1/4 ounce weight.. the tip is more like a med heavy but its got some lower end to pull fish out of cover.. Another rod that comes into mind is a skeet reese 7’6” heavy cover rod.. it’s actually my jig rod for fishing deep but it does have more of a mod fast bend to it. Both at 100$ ?
  16. Appreciate your input guys I was just thinking of setting up a couple beaters to hit ponds with that way I wouldn’t be dragging my rods in and out of my boat every time I wanna go fishing.. The way I fish is dragging a jon boat or kayak behind a wheeler and fishing ponds, borrow pits, beaver ponds that kinda stuff and I cant put it in my head to use my high end combos maybe thats just me.
  17. Hey guys I’m needing some low cost pond hopping rods and reels.. looking for some rods that will cover most pond presentations finese worm, frog, topwater, jig and worm.. and will be goin kayaking as well with these.. dont wanna break out my high end stuff for what I’ll be doing.. as far as the reels they need to be durable I’m really thinking bout the abu garcia black max but haven’t had any dealings with them. Try to keep combos under 100$ if possible.. I bought a lews xfinity combo from walmart and I cant get the reel to cast without backlashing so maybe no combos again.... thanks all
  18. What he said.. I love my lews tournament mb i bought 3 in 2011 when they first came out i can remember there was only 4 lews reels to choose from 79.99-99.99-149.99- and a higher end one I went with the middle of the road at 149.99 which is the tournament mb. They are GREAT reels never had a problem with them and honestly never had to clean em i just like to clean them every year or so depends how much i fish a year. From there i bought some super duty reels one is a 5:1 gear ratio and I don’t believe they make it anymore and the other is a 7:1 i got for braided line. I also have more I acquired over the years but your not gonna find a bad lews product at least I haven’t yet
  19. I love fishing a fluke and when I’m fluke fishing I usually have two tied on one weightless and one weighted in case I get on the edge of some grass or something. More effective to me that way. On my weightless setup I have a falcon Lowrider weightless worm rod 6’7”mhxf to me your not gonna find a better rod for flukes than that paired with a lews tournament mb I can straight up bomb a fluke way out there. For my weighted setup I just use a 7’3” mhf. Have fun
  20. What knot do yall tie when flipping with braided line.. ive been using power pro super slick
  21. 1 7'6" mh 50# braid 2 7' h 20 flouro 3 6'9" mh xfast 17 flouro 4 7' mh cranking action 12 flouro 5 7' m 20 mono 6 6'6" ml 12 flouro Tried to keep it simple.. all casting rods.. it dont matter what rods you go with but I would say go with all th same brand of rods so it want feel weird when u change rods.. rods and line would be your preference what every comfortable for u and ur wallet cant go wrong with falcon
  22. Man im in the same boat kinda.. trying to find a (deep) cranking rod for 10xd and 30+.. I see you want one for a variety of cranks though I tried that with a 7 6 but it just dont handle th big plugs.. I will most likely use it for rattle traps... if I get another stick
