  1. I use a gama 4/0 g-lock hook rigged backwards. I cant say i've had any problems with this setup. I think i actually learned it on this board.
  2. dude at basspro told me this this other day, that's why you see these manufacturers like the carrot stik putting foam on it and marketing it as better than cork. i hate foam. it's ok on my kid's equipment and crappie poles.
  3. from what i understood from 1 of the employees was that the stores in my area had stopped getting a lot of items in long before they declared bankruptcy.
  4. ftp://sportsmanswarehouse.com/documents/sw_reorganize_04-2009.pdf
  5. buying my 2.5 year old boat for half price from someone who never used it.
  6. the Mend-it glue works great. problem i had was that it dried out pretty quickly. I think the acetone in it evaporated. i kept meaning to try to reconstitute it but never got around to it. Otherwise the stuff is great
  7. most good hooks are chemically sharpened as a last step to get that tiny edge off. That's pretty much the only way to get it that sharp. minus the chemical part, a dremil should get the hooks as sharp as any sharpener.
  8. i was reading some book that talked about how important the lateral line is for fish. I would imagine that this is more important than sight. This would be true for lakes that are so muddy that you cant see 6 inches in front of you, like Arkabutla.
  9. that almost hurts to hear that. anyone who doesn't want their suresets are more than encouraged to send them my way.
  10. and by setting the hook you've also got a chance of snagging that bluegill. that'll teach em.
  11. Reaction innovations Big unit - California 420.
  12. did anyone see the new rapala's? http://www.tackletour.com/reviewicast08rapala.html they look great, but it looks like they are trying to get to lucky craft prices.
  13. mend it does a great job with fixing baits. I've pretty much mutilated baits and was able to glue them back together. However it does dry up. I was considering getting some acetone to see if it would liquify the stuff again, but have never gotten around to it.
  14. i've got a cheap berkely and a boga grip and i never use the berkely anymore.
  15. i tried some of this stuff on my baitcaster and hated it. All it ever wanted to do was spring up, and after it springs up it easily gets birdnested. This is usually when the knot breaks and your baits goes flying 20' up in the tree. So IMO this stuff is crap for baitcasters. However I do use this as a lead on one of my baitcasters. I usually put just enough so that all of it casts out and i don't have any left on the spool. I picked up a spool of the 100% fluor - 8lb and am wanting to try it.
  16. i pretty much only fish the blugill when i'm bed fishing and only use it to irritate the mess out of the fish. then i'll switch to a tube and catch it. I've had more luck with the baby bass when fishing open water.
  17. If a fish can see the bait 16 to 25ft away it doesn't need rattles. It actually seems to scare them if it's making all that noise. But the bait needs the weight the rattles give it to keep its action. So I glue them in.
  18. these are garbage.
  19. they are very dirty and grow extremely fast as well. They also eat a ton.
  20. i was under the impression that the expense came from the skirt that has to be attached to the IKA.
  21. the only problem with your boat is when you go in your buddy's boat. I got 1 of those large BPS yellow boat bags. The falcon boxes fit pretty good in that bag as well.
  22. I've had a 7' MH crankbait crucial for a while now. It's a pretty good rod. I still like my falcon Cara crankbait and my St. Croix avids better though.
  23. i've wanted to try that new trilene, but don't want to get burned like i normally feel when i buy fluorocarbon. Does it really cast that much better than other fluoros?
