Trolling Motor Foot Pedal Placement
I centered mine. I fish off both sides quite often so it made sense. Also looks nicer, imo.

Oil To Grease - Bearings
^ I had the exact same thing happen to the family walleye boat when I was in high school. My whole family was headed for vacation when I noticed our trailer tire passing us on the interstate. Can happen to grease also. I will say I think that trailer was at a disadvantage since the boat was shared between my family, my uncles, andy grandpa. It was probably a little tough to know who was doing what for maintenance. Even so, I repack my bearings every year without fail and replace every 3ish just to be safe.

Color Changing Rod Blank
Now that I think of it, he mentioned he builds his rods from St Croix blanks, that probably should've been where I started! Thanks for the help!

Color Changing Rod Blank
Hey guys, I saw a blank in a small tackle store a couple weeks ago with a color changing finish on it (like a dark but changes as you change angles type) and it didn't have any information on attached to it other than a price. Anybody ever seen one of these and could point me towards it? Thought it would make a cool looking rod, but wanted to know what quality blank I would be getting.

Boat Ramp Issue
I'm sure everyone has horror stories from ramps. Just last year I was unloading at a ramp with 4 slots. Halfway down the ramp, a guy in a big 25' ish boat pulls up and docks right behind me, with an open ramp slot on either side of us. I proceeded to unload with him getting ticked that I didn't wait for him to load his boat so he would be out of the way. I didn't know what to say so I just took off.

Can't Stop Dipping
Great looking rods. On behalf of my wallet, I'd like to thank you. He's been meaning to lose some weight and you just found me something to spend more money on

Fantasy
I've gone back and forth between McCaghren and Tietje. Tietje was top 10 last time they were here, IIRC, and is basically a local. McCaghren also had a good tournament (don't think he made the cut), but has done well in similar tournaments, plus he's a really low pick % right now.

Co Angler Stories
I agree. Didn't understand it when it happened, still don't to this day.

If there's anything you shouldn't overthink from the Classic, it's the pros choice of songs.

Co Angler Stories
I had that happen a couple years ago in a BFL. Guy went on to finish 4th WITHOUT my fish, and he's done very well at the BFL level. I think he even signed on with Bass Pro recently. I can never see anything good happen to him without assuming he at least tried to cheat. Funny thing was, while waiting for launch one of his buddies idled over and asked him about being accused of cheating on the previous tournament. Should've seen it coming I guess.

Are You Surprised?
Not too surprised, I had 1, 2, 5, and 13 on my fantasy team! There's a lot of parity in BASS right now, so I'm not real surprised by anything. With more big sponsor opportunity, a lot of the bigger FLW sticks are coming over and it's making the field that much deeper. I would guess most tournaments this season will have a similar feel to the standings and you won't have the traditional "top guys" dominating as much. Should be fun to watch.

Bassmasters Classic Day 3
It would be awesome if Bobby Lane could hold on. Really great guy and came from quite a was back to make it interesting. Don't know that it'll happen unfortunately.

Can You Crank The Boat Safely This Way?
Wouldn't recommend it, although you would probably be ok for a real short time, as long as you weren't doing it repeatedly in a short time working on it. The most common issue with running it without water would be overheating your water pump impeller which can cause it to break apart. Best case scenario, you realize it happens and just replace the impeller. Worst case scenario, it breaks up and little pieces block off your water passages, causing one or more of the cylinders to not be properly cooled and overheat when it's ran again. One of those things where you would "probably" be fine, but is it really worth the potential expense if something goes wrong?

Live Stream Has Started!
Wonder if they realize they have it just showing the room with no audio now? It wasn't working at work so I "left for lunch," and now I still don't get to see anything! Simple solution: I guess I'll just have to wait it out until they get back to on the water footage. This lunch break might get long.

Fuel Question
http://pure-gas.org/ This has a list by state and then city of ethanol free gas. Also shows what octane the station has for ethanol-free. Use it quite a bit planning trips. I specifically mentioned this to my mechanic this last fall when I took it in for service. His response was "ethanol free, no question."

Is This "planing"
I may have misunderstood him, but either way I was just giving you a hard time. Nothing seriously meant by it. You've probably given more good advice on BR already this morning than I have in the last 2-3 years!

What Did You Win Your Very First Tournament On
Chartreuse black back crankbait, don't remember what brand. Team tournament on a little 99 acre lake in Central Iowa when I was 19. It was the first tournament I ever fished and I had never met my partner before we showed up at the ramp. Awesome experience and probably the reason that half of my paychecks still go towards bass tackle.

Major League Fishing
Without those "twenty-something hot shots" this sport has no future. I'd hate to see it die because we wouldn't let young anglers in for fear of hurting the old guys pride. Of the guys in there 20s on the MLF select show, all have proven they belong. Ott Defoe, Jacob Wheeler, Palaniuk, and Shryock are the only 20s anglers in the Select unless I missed someone.

Chatterbait Style Bait Mold
My Arky mold from Do-It uses the hooks with the eye vertical along the head (front to back of the eye is same as front to back of the head), so I just bend the hook eye out and attach the blade right to that. The Do-It Trokar Swim Jig has the eye horizontal or perpendicular to the bait, so a split ring is used with those. Pic of Arky:
