Bassmaster Classic Updates!
Is it just me or is the Bass Trakk useless this year? I was paying attention to Gary Klein yesterday and it showed him most of the day with 4 or 5 fish in the lievwell...weighed in 1. then today I see they show he and several others without a limit yet having culled keeper sized fish.

Do You Yell When You Have The Bucketmouth In Hand?
Occasionally, but very rarely. I'm more likely to let out a shout when I lose one. You'd be surprised how many guys still try to come fish nearby just because they hear you make some noise.

Flw Bfl
Register as soon as you possibly can for the best chance to get in, lot's of Cos fish that division. As far as what to expect, it will depend who you draw. Some simply amazing fishermen as well as a few clueless knuckleheads. For the most part, the people are great. I fished that division as a Co for several years and only had 1 guys that I drew who really backboated me, and one other guy who wouldn't consider listening o the guy in the back of the boat. Every single other partner I drew was great to fish with and a couple really helped me learn new techniques as well. As for those tournaments, the one in May at LaCrosse will be a slugfest. Big smallie will probably dominate at that early one, but you could see someone get on some big prespawn largemouth too. There's a chance for somebody to crack 20 pounds one of these years (I beliueve a guy had 19 1/2 last year or the one before). June at Winneconne is a fun one because it's hard to say what you'll be doing. Quite a few guys go flip docks and cane beds up the wolf river, another big group will find offshore humps for smallmouth, and another group will find the slop and frog fish most of the day. I'd say more often than not it gets won on a combination of frogging and dragging a tube. Lots of fish to be had but it can be hard to find the right size at times. Boater side will probably take 16-17 pounds to win.

Tournament Block
Back boating happens, quite often by accident. Lots of people prefish and just go out fishing by themselves and they get used to only worrying about their position in the water. I always let my coangler know at the beginning of the day that he should say something if I position him in a way he doesn't like. Works out pretty well. I did have it happen really badly in the first BFL I ever fished as a co-angler. The guy was fishing a grass flat and I turned around and made a cast to a small windblown rock island. first cast hooked a 3 lber, so he backs the boat up to where Ican't cast to the windblown side, fills his limit, and we take off. Completely ruined my first bigger tournament. Episodes like that seem pretty uncommon though.

Excessive Smoking 150 Pro X/s Optimax
Run it low then switch back to premium plus and see if the smoking continues. More than likely just the difference in oils, but that way you'll know for sure.

Engine Rebuild Advice
Well I'm without my boat for a week or two, sucked up some junk and overheated the top two cylinders causing scoring. Motor is in the shop for a full rebuild. I've always done all my own work on my boat motors but I thought this one deserved a professional. I'm having the VRO pump replaced while its in along with the usual carb rebuild and water pump replacement. When I get it out, I'll do a full break in as if it was new. Anyone else have experience with engine rebuilds and is there anything else I should do while its in or once I get it back?

Frog Fishing
If the fish are missing a buzzfrog, try switching to a hollowbody. I bend the hooks out just slightly. They often come slightly pointed down to keep them weedless, I bend them to level or just slightly above. Also, if they strike and miss the frog, keep it moving. If they knock it out of the water without grabbing it, I like to just twitch it in place to mimic injured prey. Good luck!

Brandon Palaniuk Dq
They had a tournament in lacrosse last year and no one had a problem. They went back because of the number of fish the anglers caught last year and the turnout for weigh ins.

Flw Fantasy Fishing?
Whats the league ID and password for FLW? I think I'm in the Bassnaster one already. Just tanked the BASS one this year, completely forgot to do one tournament and somehow only ended with 2 anglers in another. Doing really well in FLW though. If none of you guys are in the TW leagues for each, I'd recommend it. Top 10 in each leagu get some pretty awesome prize packages.

I Would Like To Get A Sponsorship
Just a general comment. There are millions of fisherman in this country, and a large percentage o them would "like to get a sponsor," the thing you need to figure out is why would a sponsor "like to get you?" Everyone has or can have specific traits and skills that give them some value to a company, they key is either figuring out what those are, or developing them. Once you get that figured out, you'll waste a lot less time for yourself, and for the companies you're pursuing.

A Jiging Question.
You could try punching if there were holes under the mats also

Watertender Deck
Not sure what a watertender is. I'm assuming its a smaller boat since u got it free. Is use 3/4 inch plywood and 2x4s for the deck. Follow with some carpet. Fairly easy to do. Supports along the outside of the deck and 2x4s running across to hold the middle.

Don’T Neglect Your Anodes !
Not threaded inside, although I could probably add some to it.
-
Don’T Neglect Your Anodes !
The hole underneath the anode is there, its the hole above the anode that's missing. I may look into your strap idea.
-
Don’T Neglect Your Anodes !
51 is correct. I've got anodes and inserts for it, but the hole it bolts into just isn't there. I replaced the transom bracket One just about a week ago. Thanks for the link to the manual!

Don’T Neglect Your Anodes !
1997 Johnson venom j200stleu is the model number I think. I don't have the owners manual, I've been using the seloc manual for general maintenance. I could grab a couple pictures sometime if needed.

Don’T Neglect Your Anodes !
On a related note, i went to put on the rear lower unit anode on my 200 Johnson when I noticed it was missing, and the hole it bolts into isn't there, any ideas what that's about? The "slot" is there, but no hole in the top.

Sponsorship Opportunities In The Midwest
I'd like to provide a point just to expose you to what the other guys mean about resume versus cover letter. While I do not have a whole lot of fishing resume experience, I do have a lot of resume writing experience. I know many of the finer points in resume writing because I took a class on it in college. I've also written many resumes in job searches during and after college. It was a well written resume which allowed me to gain the career I currently enjoy. One of the biggest things I've learned, is that people don't really care. That should be pretty evident to you because it's likely by now you're skimming through this, barely reading it. It will take something really different (such as the last sentence, or these parentheses) to get your attention back. A cover letter-type format does the same thing. A company representative may start to read, but he's heard the story a million times. "I want X product because I'm special in the following ways..." Give him a resume with the things you want him to see most. You'll likely never actually get a sponsorship just from a resume, but you'll get an opportunity from one.

Trolling Motor Issue And Fish Finder
The trolling motors will give different depths because they are normally mounted at different depths. Do you have the trolling motor transducer bracketed to the underside of the TM?
-
What Is The Proper Conversion?
A 24 volt trolling motor would have to be using about 31 amps to equal 1 HP. The pound thrust rating for that trolling motor is irrelevant in that regard.

4 Amp Fuses?
I've got some 2-prong 4 amp fuses that came with a pack from Walmart. They were over near the car stereo equipment and it was like $17 for the pack.

Drop Shot A Hula Popper?
Slow rolling a buzzbait on bottom in 20-30 feet of water is my go to answer for people I don't really want to answer. Actually have a buddy who watched a kid do it during a tournament. (His final weight that day was zero)
