Been fishing Scum Frog Jr. Long before this Nailed a few smallies with one this morning actually

It wouldn't suprise me at all if that fish weighed 20#. It also wouldn't suprise me one bit if it was a hoax.

Landing that Gar was a team effort on 8# line, and I was still a little unsure about grabbing that rascal....

Went out with Hayden today to try and catch a few smallies. Caught a few early on topwater, then switched to grubs and Senko's. biggest was around 18in. 3rd cast with the grub I hooked a Gar and boy was I in for a fight! 8# CXX is no joke! Although I hooked the fish it was truly a team effort to land this creature! Thanks Hayden for the hand!

The fishing is always slow if you ask me even if we have caught 100+. Fisherman tell tales to keep the number of boats down on their favorite water. Go out and fish and figure out how the fishing is!

Sam basically killed it. Besides the fact 17# line is too heavy IMO it will hurt the maximum diving depth of your crankbaits throw them on 8-12#.

Ever since you started posting all these pictures of these monster gills I have been targeting them. No monsters yet but darn gill fishing can be a blast!

If you haven't killed a fish or two you must not be catching alot of fish. seriously it's a nature of the beast and although we hate to see it happen its unavoidable.

It seems like the new rods are a very competitive offering. Although I am a little dissapointed that my 6 Cumara's will no longer stand out .The new reels however are overall disappointing. I have not used the new reels and will save my final opinion for when I do. In todays economy everything goes up in price and unfortunately fishing equipment is no exception. It looks like you are now receiving a Curado for 20 dollars more. Look at how much a gallon of milk has gone up over the last 5 years and this price increase won't seem so harsh!

So I have never fished a jigging spoon but have been told they can be killer on Claytor lake. How do you guys fish them? Do you just look for schools of bait fish and jig them up? Do you cast them or just drop them down off the side of the boat? Do the fish usually eat them on the fall? Do you fish them on flouro or mono? Thanks in advanced.
