I get a little frustrated with my fish finders. I bought a boat with an eagle 240 on the bow and on the console. Maybe I just need to get more familiar with them and more experienced. ???
Do you guys mainly use your fish finders for looking at depth and contour of the bottom? When you find the right structure and drop off, do you then assume there is fish there and start throwing Or do you use them to locate fish and then target those fish?
I lose a little faith after I find some fish, throw every thing in the box at them and not get a nibble. :-/ What are your methods, when do you give up on a spot?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I had a guide service on a Missouri river that with certain fishermen and on certain days we would guarantee 100 bass or you don't pay and I never guided for free. We never caught huge bass but 3 1/2 to 4 lb SM were common. I don't know where they got their info from but, whenever you are rating something like that, it is pretty subjective.

RW.,
Thanks for the help. I am a newbie who has been fishing a tourney on the missouri river between Iowa and South Dakota(with little success). Very few largemouth and mostly smalleys, and not much size to boot. The current is 5-7mph ??? and fishing is pretty tough. depths are about 9-15ft in the channels and up to 50ft on some wholes after wing dikes. I would love to take you out fishing if you ever make it out this way, or if you would rather save your gas, just keep sending me the good advice.
Thanks
Rob
Chris,
This is a lot of great info for a newbie to absorb. I know you pick your cranks on the water, fish, and weather conditions that present themselves on the given day but, would you mind sharing your top 5 cranks, that you would consider your go to or confidence baits?
Thanks again for all your great info.
Rob
