  1. 2slow, Thanks for the info. What causes your battery to lose water if your charger is working correctly?
  2. What is "sulphate" or what does it mean for a battery to " sulphate"? Last year I bought one of the bps xps triple bank chargers. You are supposed to leave it plugged in all the time. It goes into a float mode after batteries are fully charged, then comes back on once the batteries drop. If I run my tm for about a minute it will come back on to charge. I don't know what the setpoint is for the amount of drop it takes to put it in to "charge" mode again but, it does not seem like much. The reason I bring this up is that I noticed that my tm batteries were not holding much charge by August. I checked the batteries and they were both very low on water. I'm wondering if my new battery charger had any part in this. I have since bought new batteries and they have been sitting plugged in on the charger for the last 6 weeks and will probably remain there til march. Should I unplug them for the winter?
  3. 2slow, curious as to why you don't like this feature?
  4. Last year I bought the 737 for the bow and the 767 with gps for the consul. I like them both but wish I had gotten the color on the 767 but, I really wish I had bought the 947c. They are costly but from the testimonials and things I have read about them, I believe they are well worth it.
  5. What town in Nebraska is the home located, or are you at liberty to say?
  6. Touche' Somehow I knew I was putting my foot in my mouth.
  7. Russ, thanks for another nice video. One thing I did notice was how fast and furious you were reeling to take up the slack on that one hookset. That is one of the reasons I forced myself to use a baitcaster. Inches per turn. The highest IPT on spinning that I could find was 12-17 inches. When using a baitcaster that has 26-28 IPT you sure can pick that slack up a lot quicker. Fork might be a good place to hone your bc skills
  8. I bought 2 vientos about a year ago. One I have on a jig/worm rod, the other one I have on a woo daves 7' cranking rod. They are smooth reeling, easy casting rods. I did not use the one on the jig/worm rod nearly as much. The one on the cranking rod, did get a lot of use throwing a lot of cranks throughuout the summer, mainly a lot of suspending jerk baits. This reel functions fine but, makes noise when making long casts that cause the spool to spin fast. I was just using Jig/worm rod the other day with a tube and used the twitchin bar exclusively. It is great for moving the bait in short little hops. Not that you could not do it with your rod but, I find it easier to do with the t-bar. I feel that when using the t-bar it allows me to stay in better contact with my bait and I feel bites more quickly because I am not moving the rod. I like the reels. I wish I would have just bought one of them,. I could have put that $150 towards a good cranking reel. In my opinion it is a good reel but I would not pay more than $80-90 for one.
  9. Nice fish! As far as I'm concerned you can wear those bibs as high as you like. Man...I got to find me some new water.
  10. "Hey Hey what can I say" Enough said. ;D
  11. The deepest I have ever fished for bass on a dropshot is 35-40 foot. I don't have a lot of confidence at that depth but have caught a few in the 25-35 ft range. I will typically be fishing water 12 feet or less.
  12. "These colors don't run" says it all in my book.
  13. Island basser. I had the same problem with some 20# power pro earlier this year, breaking right at the knot on hookset and I use the palomar knot. It happened twice, within an hour of fishing. I noticed that the line had started to look more faded in color, so I just respooled and end of problem. I will try some other brands when I run out of power pro. I notice that it tends to fray a lot just above the knot, It can be fixed with retying but, it seems to fray quite quickly especially around the rocks. I will take dodgeguys advice and try suffix.
  14. Chris, I do enjoy the strength qualities of braid cuz man I love to put the "Bill Dance" hookset on them. But I agree with Dan about the it getting wrapped around the end of my pole. Also on weightless soft plastics the bait does not sink as well. Rob
  15. A buddy of mine has been a master gm auto tech for over 35 years. He is also an avid fishermen. He recommended AC delco batteries to me for my trolling batteries. He claims he has been running a set for over 6 years and they have never let him down. They were about $90 a piece and I think 1200cca.
  16. Typically with on board chargers you just plug them in and they charge. Not familiar with your brand or the age of it either. Most newer on board chargers have three lights. One that indicates you have power when you plug it in, one that indicates you are charging at your max amps rating and one that indicates the batteries are fully charged and it is now on trickle charge rate. When I plug mine in after use the power light comes on along with the charging light. Once the batteries are fully charged, the charges senses this and then shuts off the max rate charger and turns on the "go fish" light meaning the batteries a fully charged. At the same time it now switches to the trickle charge rate, so you don't boil all the water out of your batteries. If no lights come on when you plug it in, I would first check your power supply, which I am sure you already have. You might want to check and see if your charger has some sort of "overload" switch kind of like and electrical breaker that needs to be reset. If your power supply is good more than likely you have a problem with your charger. Take it somewhere and have it checked out.
