  1. I use snap swivels on everything but texas rigged plastics. they seem to wrok good and they havent hurt my fish catching and they havent caused me to lose any fish
  2. well first of all make sure you arent fishing your topwaters too fast. the slower the better. also most of the topwaters have lots of treble hooks which doesnt require much if any hard hooksets. usually just pulling back a little will hook the fish. also if a bass boils at it try just stoping the bait, because sometimes a bass will attack it to get rid of it not to eat it, and if it boils at it the fish could just be trying to get rid of the lure, so stopping the bait makes the fish think it killed or stunned the lure, then it can go eat an easy meal.
  3. I usually check the site at night before i go to bed and then in the morning before i go to school. Also our school gave every student at our school a laptop tp use and so when i have free-time i like to check the site.
  4. I usually dont base my color selection on the color of the sky. the color of the sky affects the type of lure and/or type of retrieve. I use a slower more natural presentation in sunny weather, and i use a faster more agressive lures in cloudy weather. the color of the lures is more affected by the color of the water. In clear water i use colors like junebug and black and pumpkinseed and green pumpkin. In muddyer water i use Black and and brighter colored worms like chartruese and bright red and pink.
  5. if i could catch a 10 pounder i would probly wet myself haha jkjk but it would be a memory i would never forget. hah and i dont ever have a 1 lb bass that ive caught that i remember specifically

  8. Well im going to use them on the blades for when i make spinnnerbaits, so what size should i get for that.
  9. Bottom line is if you are catching fish why change. If you stop catching fish you probly should change your lure. Try starting with faster moving lures like spinnerbaits and crankbaits, and then when the bite stops switch to slower moving baits like T-rigged plastic worms and T-rigged tubes. I hope this helps.

  12. I cant ever seem to find any crawdads in the lakes and ponds i fish here in Kansas. I dont know if they are there or not so its hard for me to pick colors of jigs and stuff to match to them. Is anyone else out there from Northwest Kansas and knows if there are any crawdads here and how to find them to see there color.
  13. How do you guys go about fishing laydowns.
  14. Try using a 4/0 hook instead of a 2/0, also texpose the hook, if you dont know what that is, it means to push the hook all the way through the top of the fluke, and then to stick it back in just a little bit so that it is easier to set the hook. also try using a superline like Berkley Ironsilk or Fireline because these have less stretch than mono and will help with the hook sets. Also dont set the hook imediatly, wait a few seconds after the fish takes it before you set the hook.
