  3. Gin clear Large Lake or Small Pond
  4. lightning rods Flippin or Pitchin
  5. BOTH!!!! ;D Walleye or Crappie.
  6. you cant go wrong with some Zoom U-tails and Zoom Trick Worms. they are usually around 2 or 3 bucks so they are pretty cheap and they catch fish
  7. maybe it wasnt that you couldnt catch the fish around the dock but maybe there just werent any fish within casting distance. i have a little 10' johnboat that i put a trolling motor on. i got mine cheap at a garage sale for 50 bucks. if you can find a one or know someone that would let you borrow one i would highly recomend it
  8. haha even if it wasnt that easy i sure wouldnt mind it thats for sure.
  9. Thanks for all the help guys! do you have any opinions on the colors i could use?
  10. yea i think it is more in the line than the hooks like dodgeguy said. its like Berkley Vanish Transition. it is gold above the water, but disappears under it.
  11. I dont buy senkos because they just cost to much. i wont buy soft plastics that cost more than 4 or 5 dollars a bag and i try not to buy crankbaits/topwater that cost more than 4 or 5 dollars. im only 15 and im not made of money so thats why i dont spend alot, but i still catch fish and i still catch quality fish.
  12. t-rigged worms and lizards on the edge of it. topwater lures and weightless plastic worms over the top of it.
  13. Where in the US: Northwest Kansas Water condition/color/clarity: the water is kind of a moderate, it isnt like crystal clear and it isnt muddy. you can see things down about 2-4 feet or so maybe a little more. im not sure what the water temp is now but the air gets 90 easily here in kansas during the days. Any signs of activity in the shallows: ive only been aroun this lake a couple times. i havent seen any fish in the shallows, but ive seen some blue herons eating some smaller minnows. Feeder Creeks: there arent any creeks going in it, but there is a very large draw that runs about 5 miles from the northern most part of the lake.
  14. Largemouth - 6 lb. 6 oz. on a storm crankbait run over a spawning bed. Smallmouth - haha well ive only fished for them once and only caught a few fish so i would have to say a 12" smallmouth is my biggest fish
  15. I am going to go try this pond that i just got permission to fish. its really almost a small lake, because its almost 30 acres so i wouldnt really call it a pond. anyways i have a small 10' johnboat with a transom mounted Minn-Kota. anyways the lake has a ton of standing timber in it. from the shallows clear out the the deepest parts. there are also some laydowns along the edge, and a small island out in the middle with some laydowns on the edge of it.there are are a couple weedlines along one shore and i think they are probably in about 10 or so ft of water. i have heard that the lake is a great place to catch some giant crappie, but i am not looking for any crappie. i am looking for Big Mr. Bass. i havent heard anyone that fishes it talk about bass, so i am not sure how to start fishing this lake and how to find the fish. i am looking for any info on how to fish this place for the first time. Thanks!
  16. oh i forgot. TOPWATER!!! TOPWATER!!! TOPWATER!!!!
  17. alot of weedlines are visible from the surface. if not you can usually find them on the depthfinder.
  18. im a 5 for almost the same reason as fishinfool. i have a johnboat and am looking for a reasonably priced bass boat. i fish small lakes and ponds mostly and have pretty good success and ive been getting out to bigger lakes alot more with people i know that have boats and have done ok but not great so thats why i rate myself a 5
  19. i just went smallmouth fishing for the first time about a week ago and caught most of the fish around steep rocky banks, and rocky points that stick way out into the lake, and rocky drop-offs. hit them with red or brown colored crankbaits, and swim brownish colored jigs around the rocks.
  20. look for any type of wood cover. then i pitch a jig or a tube around it. if you dont know what pitching is here is some info http://bassresource.com/fish/flip&pitch.html
  21. Hey im from Hays, Kansas and if you dont know where thats at its in NW Kansas and i fish Cedar Bluff Reservior mostly. i dont know if youve ever fished there but its a pretty good lake. anyways whats been working for me there this summer is hitting the deeperwater points with t-rigged plastic worms and pitching tubes around standing timber on the edge of the main lake.
  22. http://bassresource.com/beginner/beginner.html here you go! and good luck out on the water.
  23. well i know plenty of ponds that are 30 or 40 years or even more years old with bluegill and bass and they are only like 3 or 4 acres and the bass fishing is just great their. i wouldnt think that stocking bluegill would hurt that much.
  24. Pitching is my favorite technique to use and ive practiced it in the backyard a ton and have gotten quite well at it and ive gotten quite acurate. my only problem is when i pitch a tube or somthing out as soon as it hits the water it will fall away from the cover because i have the line to tight so i can detect strikes. when i pull line off the reel to try and help this it seems that the line is almost to slack and i may be missing strikes. is there somthing else that i can do to try and get better at this.
  25. Pitching is my favorite type of fishing. I love pitching tubes, and remember always lean towards a heaviear line, because flipping and pitching can catch some big fish and you dont want to be on the end of a rod that just had its line snapped by a big bass
