  1. jon boats are great for ponds
  2. what color don't i use?... my favorites are red shad, green pumkpkin, chartruese pepper, junebug, pumpkin, watermellon red, cherry seed, gourd green, black, and those are just my favorites.
  3. zoom u-tails are my favorite plastic worms. i t-rig them, fish them weightless, and just about anything you can do with a plastic worm. they catch tons of fish, and they are pretty dang cheap
  4. I would Recomend getting somthing thats down on the very bottom shelf. you can usually get alot of stuff in a kit or somthing for less than 5 bucks
  5. Winter- I dont fish much then cause of ice. but when i do its jigs Spring- t-rigged lizards, tubes, jigs, crankbaits. Summer- t-rigged worms, spinnerbaits, tubes Fall- Crankbaits, Spinnerbaits, t-rigged worms
  6. i agree with will. a spinnerbait or a crankbait. match the natural forage for them.
  7. hah we have a small community lake here that is full of bluegill and green sunfish. there arent alot of bass, but the ones there are are usually pretty small (6" or so) if you want to catch bluegill, either go with a beetle spin or a roadrunner or a roostertail, or just go with a plain old worm and bobber. for bass go with bluegill colored lures, firetiger spinnerbaits and cranbaits.
  8. I would definatly use D. flipping and pitching is my strong suit, and 2 pieces of cover are great spots for fish to hold to. plus in a cold front bass will hold tight to cover, and flippin and pitching is a slow type of fishing to get them to hit.
  9. slow moving soft plastics. t-rigged or weightless.
  10. flippin is where you grab the line between the reel and the first rod guide with your free hand and then you do about the same motion as pitching and as the lure leaves you let the line go out of your hand. i never use flipping, because pitching lets the lure go farther, and it is much easier to use.
  11. let out enough line so that the lure reaches your reel. take the lure in your freehand, and let the rod tip down toward the water. then raise the rod tip quickly and let go of the lure as you do this. the lure will glide right above the water untill it softly drops in. this is my favorite way of fishing.
  12. Id go with B. my confidence techniqe is pitching and that would be the target for pitching.
  13. When your Tackle Bags, Boats, and Rods & Reels are more organized than your house is.
  14. i dont think that he is a bad guy at all. in fact he seems like a very generous, kind guy. i just think that he overcharges for his stuff. hes not the only one either. the worst job of overcharging is lucky craft. there prices are just outragous. i wouldnt spend 20 dollars on a lure in my life. IMO Rapalas and Bombers and Strike Kings will work just as good, and they only cost 4 or 5 dollars.
  15. I use trilene XL in low vis. green color. its almost invisible and its pretty strong too.
  16. I am going to join starting next year when i turn 16. the only reason is because i would have to to join a bass club. the minimum age is 16 so thats why im starting next year. i dont need to magazine because i have this site, and its 1000000 times better. the mag will probably just be like icing on the cake
  17. ive seen some fishing but never been to close to them and they were just little garder snakes but they still scare the s*** out of me. when i was pheasant hunting last year i came upon a 2 ft garder snake and he got 3 shots from the 12 gauge.
  18. try fishing over the grass with spinnerbaits nad shallow cranks. what is the main forage food for the bass in this lake. try and match that in the color of you lures. i like firetiger to match bluegill, and chrome to match shad
  19. finnesse fishing. zoom trick worms rigged weightless.
  20. I usually get to fish about 2 times a week. when i turn 16 in 2 moths that will change because then i can drive. i only get to hit a lake about once a month. so im mostly stuck to pond fishin in my jon boat.

man you are lucky to be fishing in florida. my dream place to fish is Lake Okechobee
  22. i personally think that if some people want to spend 8 bucks on plastic worms then they can. its their money. i personally will spend my money on the best over-all value. sometimes that means the cheapest sometimes that means the most expensive. i get what i need at the lowest possible price, and usually i will spend 2 to 4 dollars on plastic baits. and you know what i catch fish. im not a tourney fisher yet because im only 15, so i dont need to have the perfect bait for the perfect scenario. i can see how you guys who fish tourneys would need everything that you could get to catch bass and hey thats great. but for me im just going to stick to fishing for fun, at least until i start fishing tournys.
  23. i suggest getting a video on fishing plastics worms. the articles here really help too but if you dont know the basics they can be hard to understand. the one article on here for learning this is the ones in the begginers section here is a link to the worming one http://bassresource.com/beginner/worm_fishing.html i cant really tell you everything about this technique because there is soo many different ways to fish them and rig them and it would take forever to do this. but if you have any specific questions about this you can leave me a personal message on here.
  24. when i fish them i jerk, reel up slack, jerk, reel up slack and so on.
  25. you dont need feathers on them, mine still have the ones from the pack on but when the hook needs replaced ill probably just put a regular hook on it. the feathers help make the lure a little bigger and give it a little more action, kind of like the trailor on a jig. if you do want treble hooks with feathers on them cabelas and bass pro has them. im sure walmart probably does too and your local tackle shops
