  1. i use snap swivels on crankbaits, topwater, and weightless soft plastics. i just tie directly to t-rigged soft plastics and spinnerbaits. i never use leaders.
  2. Welcome fellow Kansan. Try texas rigging some 4" tubes with a 1/8 oz bullet weight around the christmas trees. Also try fishing the riprap point with a jig with a twin tail grub trailer. try a spinnerbait around those trees too. start the retrieve as soon as it hits the water so it stays fairly close to the shore and it wont snag very easily. In the early morning or late evening try some buzzbaits or Rebel Pop-R's. Also i would recomend getting yourself a small jon boat with a trolling motor. you wont be able to fish the entire lake with it, but you can get away from the shore and fish the deeper water cover and structure. now go bring in that big one and dont forget we all want pics of it on here when you do
  3. i would fish any points that extend into the weedline with t-rigged plastics. around the weedline around the lake i would use a spinnerbait or shallow crank on the outside of the weedline, then pitch a t-rigged tube into the gaps in the weedline.
  4. In the morning i would fish around shallow cover with buzzbaits and Pop-R's. then I would fish the main lake points with t-rigged worms, jig, and cranks. i would also pitch tubes, creatures, and worms around cover in deeper water such as 15 ft. then as the evening came i would go back to buzzbaits and Pop-R's again.
  5. hey Will does the soft plastic trailer make a signifigant change in its speed. i always use trailers on jigs, but i never have used them on spinnerbaits. also do you think it would be a good idea for a buzz bait.
  6. playmaker47 posted a topic in Bass Clubs
well i got a form filled out to join my local bass club and they are supposed to go over it at their december meeting. then i should be able to join starting january 1. so wish me some luck
  7. i just use them on their own
  8. Glenn i am reccomending that up besides your senko topic and the carolina rig topic you put one for begginers that has the link to the begginers section because it seems like every new angler asks that same question and then we have to go find the website and post it.
  9. read these articles http://bassresource.com/beginner/beginner.html
  10. deep diving cranks and t-rigged worms and jigs w/ crawdad trailer and slow rolling a spinnerbait
  11. i want a picture too
  12. hahaha woah paully way to much information there ;D
  13. Does anybody have any tips for fishing on a windy evening like 20-30 mph winds. if i head out tonight it will be from like 6 till dark (8:50 is sunset) and it is supposed to be 94 degrees at sunset. what would be good to use at this time. what techniques, setup and so on
  14. hey LBH how were you rigging the Zoom Horny Toad
  15. This morning i was planning on taking my jon boat out to a 30 acre pond that i havnt fished before, but unexpectedly the wind came up to about 30 this morning and it would be impossible to control my boat so i had to cancel my trip. maybe this evening the wind will be down and i can hit some smaller ponds from the shore.
  16. the only time i use live bait is when im fishing for bluegill at small streams. i never use live bait for bass. to me thats like shooting pen raised pheasants. it makes it to easy. i want a challenge because i would rather say that i caught a 8 lb largemouth on a t-rigged plastic worm than on a bunch of nightcrawlers under a bobber.
  17. hah KU i already have my kansas lake maps out and i think i might hafta head up and fish lone star sometime soon.
  18. how do you texas rig somthing backwards? also would it still be weedless this way?
  19. hey KU what lake was this that you found the dead one in.
  20. i use a 4/0 EWG hook for 4" tubes and i use 1/4 oz bullet weight. i like BPS Tubes and Zoom tubes. Black Neon/Red Flake is one of the best colors. watermellon red, and green pumpkin are good too.
  21. dang KU that is about 1 lb or less from the Kansas state record
  22. how do you rig these. with what type of hook, any weight at all or not?
  23. what are you guys main way of fishing a t-rigged plastic worm. the only way that i have had success with plastic worms is weightless rigged above weedlines. i am also going to try pitching worms the next time out, but i would like to know the main technique that you guys use.
  24. do any of you guys pitch soft plastic worms. pitching is my strong suit, and i love it. but the only things i ever pitch are creatures and tubes and bass jigs. if any of you guys pitch worms i would apreciate any info on how you all do it (setup, weight, hook size, ect.)
  25. 19" i caught it on a Storm Thunderstick in perch color. i dont know how much it weighed cause i didnt have a scale.
