  1. Shad, hot mustard, and bluegill.
  2. There is a local "guide" : here that frequently has fishing reports talking about dropshotting live minnows for crappie...
  3. Shad Master, The fish will postition themselves facing the current that is pushing the food their way.
  4. I have fished NC,FLA,GA, and Colorado. For Bass, I like my chances on the large central Ga impoundments and lake Lanier. Within 150 mile radius, you can find big largemough, spots, and smallies in the far north of the state.
  5. Would have to say all of the above Man-made lakes and ponds......and the rivers that lead into them when needed.
  6. Buzzbaits, jigs, spinnerbaits, and 12 inch worms, especially in ponds..... Throw an big worm on a C-rig with a tungsten weight and you will learn the bottom quick. In my experience, Big bass are kinda like big gators. They like to sink into and hang around thick, nasty stuff waiting for an easy meal. If ambushing doesnt work that day, they will move outside of their lair and hunt as close to that comfort zone as possible depending on time of day, weather, time of year, etc.. Getting the big ones to bite isnt the hard part. Its getting him out of his zone sucessfully once you get the hook set, which is also tough on the big boys.Even when spawning big fish are gonna stay as close to narly, comfortable cover as possible. My 10.3 PB came out of a 100 acre public lake that is probably 50-75 yrs old, with lots of vegatation. It blasted out of a small hole in the moss and killed a black trickworm.
  7. This has got to be a joke.......Of all people in fishing to make a movie about, He isnt a legend yet in fishing, but I have heard he was a world champion breakdancer ;D
  8. When fishing from my small boat, a gheenoe, I will slide a piece of pvc pipe onto the transom mounted, trolling motor throttle. At a low setting I can use the pipe to steer the boat with my leg. Its worth a try. In my small boat I make things work. but some days I really miss the foot control on my bassboat.
  9. Always thinking of ways to win a check. Always doing something different from the pack. I like finding cover and structure that the water covers all the time and pick it apart.
  10. Like that one ad says, "If bass were bigger, they would eat you." I have caught several 5-10lb bass that have eaten the 6-12" bass that hit my lure first....
  11. SENKO77, I dont think they are stiff, They are more durable. The worm lizards have caught me alot of fish so far too. Won $800 bucks in one tournament this spring dragging them over beds with a t-rigged with a tungsten wt.in really Heavy cover. I also fished them c-rigged and did well in clear water in cover, where a regular senko would be destryed quickly. Just my experience so far.
  12. Cold Steel's Walking Stick is a great handpour. They are a GA company but I think they may have started selling though a distributor. You may be able to find them online now.
  13. Think Clunn might also be a member of the "wake and Bake" club ;D
  14. BASS: GA NC Wild Trout: GA,NC,Tenn,SC, Colorado....
  15. 6 out of Lake Oconee since the first of the year. 5 from private, Pritchard lake, 27 acres 1 from Rock Eagle Lake (100 acres) 1 from Lake Lanier 2 from Dekle Lake,Private 30 acre lake, 9.5lb PB All I can think of right now.
  16. Cuba Flyfish for trophy smallies in Canada
  17. Sorry bout that I meant to say: Slide the head of the worm an inch or so up the line.....This makes the long worm look like a snake coming through the water when you swim it in, letting it fall around structure.... Different presentation.
  18. With a rather tempermental partner a big fish coming off is a disaster in a tournament. You talk about making you sick.....I lost one at the boat that was the difference between $0 and $2500.......still see it sometimes in my head,
  19. Sounds like you need to troll some umbrella rigs...J/K ;D Norman DD22 on some 6 or 8 lb diameter or smaller braided line, prollie wouldnt hurt to put some suspend strips on it.....Also a drop shot with Zoom's "The Fluke." C-rig with a floating bait, Deep diving jerkbaits in the right color and right retrive can also get some great hookups. just some ideas.
  20. Its all about the subtle but practical changes from what everybody else is doing. Lighter line, lighter wt., smaller baits, bigger baits, etc. Throw buzzbaits like a madman. But try some different skirt colors than typical. I use skirt colors such as sunfish on bright days as a last resort, black/blue in early morning and dusk, and my go-to color has been silver, chartruse, purple, with a little red or black thrown in. You can also fiddle with the blade for more or less noise and water displacement. Also try poppers and crankbaits without rattles in forage colors. As far as a worm goes.black trick worms are good...On MH spinning gear, use a 4/0 or 5/0 worm hook and t-rig at least 10 inch worm weightless, but when hooking the worm rig the hook 2 or 3 inches down the worm. cast it as far as you can and fish it slow like a trick worm. It will look like a snake and big bass will kill it. Black shad, emerald green, junebug red have worked really well for me in the past.
  21. I feel like deep fish are an untapped resource on my home impoundment.Trying to find ledges and such and become better at finding the sweet spot within the spot and more refined in my methods and efforts of fishing them. I know the basics of using my graphs. Finding drop offs , humps, creek channels, points, grass, marking baitfish and structure....But how does what you are looking at relate to your boat postition on with a transom mount transducer as opposed to a trolling motor mount? What is the area underwater that you are being shown on the graph?
  22. Why does it matter where he fishes? It would be a boring, uneducational show if he didnt fish managed water and only caught one fish the entire show. Alot more entertaing than the "Pro Team Journal" show last week catching schooling white bass, it was pathetic. Dance does use his sponsor's Booyah jigs and blades alot on his show. They catch fish. Its a great product and alot of Ga anglers that I respect have won alot of money on them, and will recommend them without being payed for it.
  23. I fish tournaments too. I know prefishing is a must when there is money on the line.....But there are alot of guys around here that pre-fish 4 days for a club tournament, hundred of so non-boaters prefishing for no reason. Then there are the guys that go stick fish in areas they dont plan to fish the friday before....It ridiculous on this lake.
  24. At what point is a body of water considered pressured? For example my homelake is 20,000 acres and probably hosts up to 100 bass tournaments in a year....Some of those having 200 anglers w/ 200 co-anglers. This doesnt even take into consideration recreational pressure and tournament pre-fishing, which makes no sense most of the time, you are only sticking fish that may help you get a check on sat. or sun.....Also what are yall views on the fish biting when jet skis, bigger boats and such have the lake churned up?
  25. Have had a gps for years.....I am just looking for a few ideas if my night tournament plan doesnt work.......Home lake is fishing pretty tough and has been all spring, all ideas help.......thanks
