I have never had that issue, and $8 is kinda steep..the only problem I have with the rage stuff is I can't buy enough of them!

I haven't had a backlash in years, then 2 weeks ago went out with a friend, I was fishing the back of the boat, casted and i caught the motor somehow. I looked at my reel, put it down and grabbed another, that one was retired for the day, it was a mess. The next day it took me half hour to fix it.

And to answer whether it has a negative impact on your fishing, probably only at the time theyre doing it.

I would let the kids have their fun and find somewhere else to fish if it bothers you. It doesnt sound like theyre being destructive but just doing what we all did at some point.
