I went out last night and purchased a couple of strike king jigs. I haven't had much luck with jigs and I have been bass fishing my whole life. I am going to try jigs again and see if I can get the hang of them. Any suggestions on presentation or any other ideas?
  10. I am thinking about trying out spanaway lake. All the reports on it on washingtonlakes.com is mostly trout. Are there bass in it and i'm shore fishing so is there descent places for that? Anyone who has fished this lake and can share any info with me on it would be greatly appreciated. Thinkin about hitting it up this weekend if I can.
  11. if you are having a problem with the powerbait falling off the hook, roll it into a ball and get it wet and to me that seems to solve the problem. Makes it hold together on the hook better.
  12. live nightcrawler with a hunk of powerbait dough (if you can use it) cover the tip of the hook with the dough and run the nightcrawler up the shank of the hook. put that on a 2 to 3 foot leader and add some weight. Keep your line tight and wait for the twitching to begin!
  13. whatever you do DO NOT TRY TO EAT THE CARP!!! nasty stuff. We caught a couple last summer and friends of mine thought they wanted to try it fried up. Didn't taste good at all to me anyway. That's just my opinion though.
  14. I'm originally from the great state of alabama myself. Where in bama are you from? ROLL TIDE!!
  15. cool. My wife is from black diamond i'm quite familiar with that area.
  16. I am a new member to this forum. I am from tacoma, wa. I grew up in Alabama and North Carolina. I grew up bass fishing all over the southeastern US. I have lived in Wa for 5 years. Don't get out to bass fishing much. Didn't understand that there were so many opportunities to bass fish this far north and west. Thought it was too cold! I have caught a few up here but mostly east of the cascades. I have come to know that there are excellent opportunities to catch bass where I live.
  17. I would have to add beetle spins to that list. you can catch anything on a beetle spin! 8-)
  18. i was fishing on Potholes Lake in E. washington last summer and I caught this really wierd suckerfish that was white and silver. My buddy and I couldn't figure out what this fish was and we flagged down several fisherman and no one had a clue what it was. caught it on trout bait and a worm. Still don't know what it was.
  19. If you like to fish in rivers you can try the Cape Fear river. It runs right by the Fayetteville area.
  20. Thanks for all the useful info fellas. Haven't been bass fishing here for long so hopefully I can make it out soon and check out some of the lakes you all mentioned. The water is much colder here than what I grew up bass fishing in down in the southern states so I will have to try new techniques i'm sure.
  21. I am new to bass fishing in Western Washington. I here there are some good smallmouth fishing. I'm from the Southeast originally. Don't know if the techniques around here are any different than i'm used too. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks.
