  1. I had a great day on the water today, not being a real picture taker, I did remember to snap a quick pic at this one after she chopped on my NorthStar jig.
  2. This is one of my favorite top water baits.
  3. Dude, that's exactly what I need to store mine! I am building one mañana.
  4. Keep throwing that jig and the "big one" will come.
  5. Went out this afternoon for a few hours and managed to hook this skinny guy before I left. I had another one come un-buttoned at the bank on the spook one knocker.
  6. I have one tip for you. well, maybe three. Slow down, slow down some more, and then slow down even more. Fishing it so slow, its painful. The fish will tell you how they want it. Just start slow, and up your speed as you fish. You will find the sweet spot. The only time I haven't had much success with stick baits is when I've fished murky or dirty water.
  7. Who ever was in-charged of pricing this jig should have his or her head checked! 10 bills for a FLIPPING jig! That's nonsense, so it has a tungsten head and an unknown hook? What makes it worth 9.99?
  8. Bass colored spook, or a weightless stick bait. Catches them every time!
  9. Great story! Congrats on the win and PB.
  10. After trying the caffeine shad, all other soft jerk baits are obsolete. I have fish with some of the best brand soft jerk bait company, but none have the wiggling motion the caffeine shad has when you kill it. Not even the Yamamoto D shad shimmies down like the caffeine shade.
  11. I had a conversation with my tournament buddy and he was riding me for using 100% braid with no leader 90% of the time I fish. I only use mono for cranks and jerkbaits, and I use Flouro for leaders and a couple of spinning set ups I have for finesse presentation. So, he swears up and down that trophy size big bass will see the line and turn and burn, while others while hit it. We went back and forth till he ask me if I knew any angler that had caught a 10+ bass on braid with a bottom lure presentation, I.E., jigs, worms, and other lures that are not reactive baits. I had no answer. The largest bass I've caught was 9.6 lbs on braid, but that day I was using a 20lb flouro leader. Any of you know anybody that has? I really think the question is a good one, and I am just trying to see if he has a point.

I am a sucker for wheel guns, and if you could compare guns to watches, these two beauties are the Rolex of revolvers. Smith revolvers are amazing, but in my humble opinion, Colt pythons and Korth revolvers are the best ever made!!
  13. Heck yeah! I put them on everything. Spinnerbaits, swimjigs, dart heads, swimming hornets, chatterbaits, and 1/4 jig heads. They catch fish for me. I have also found much success fishing these on a 1/8 oz jig head and very light flouro line, this is an amazing finese presentation. I learn that technique watching Jarret outdoors on the outdoors channel.
  14. Trust me, you are not the only one who thinks that way. I own one of those victory model reels and they are ok at best. The reel sucks at casting light lures, and the brakes slip after casting awhile. All in all, I will never buy another. My shimano citicas and curados are drastically better in every form. To be honest, I have a cheap diawa strike force that out performs the victory reel.

That's sucks man, but if i can give a word of advice is to stay AWAY FROM THE INTERNET!! The bait monkey can ruin you in your time of recuperation!
  16. Same here in middle GA. I can't buy a bite, this recent cold front we got has the fish locked jaw!
  17. I tried throwing it on a 7' 11'' flipping stick but it did not cast well, so I purchased a i-rod gen ll, model swimbait Jr. and I have never looked back. I-rods are amazing rods for the money. As far as the reel goes, I use a Shimano Cardiff 300A spooled with 65 pound Powerpro and about a 7' leader. As far as leaders go, I like Big Game mono in 25lb test. These swimbait rods have so much back bone you can literally rip the bait out of its mouth. The Bull Shad is amazing swimbait, but if you don't want to drop that kinda cheese, look at the Spro BBZ-1 shad. The BBZ-1 is one of my go-to swimbaits
  18. I love me some big girls!!!! Congrats man, that's a pig.
  19. Well, went out today late and was able to scrape a little guy on a 6" Bull Shad. This little dude hit it like a freight train!
  20. Swimbaits and jigs. I have way too many!!!!!
  21. Hang in there because is about to get good! Once this cold front passes, it's going to be on like donkey kong.
