  1. Hey birdy, I haven't fished there since last spring. I went with a buddy who knows the lake. He kept talkin about cadillac cove on the way down I was like sure what ever, but we fished it all day and had one of the best days of fishin i've had.(in Ohio) I would stop in the local tackle shop and ask what and where to fish.
  2. Another tip shamster is change up your retreive. stop, jerk, speed up slow down, ect. When you do get that hit try to duplicate the retreive the fish hit on. Don't get me wrong, you can catch um just using a steady retreive but I like to change it up a bit. Atleast thats my opinion. You'll have to post some picks of your rig in the boating section when she's done.
  3. Would have to be pitchin and flippin T-rigged plastics.Tubes are deffinatly my go to bait.
  4. Nice work!! I have an old 14' mirrocraft I did very similar, did you paint or treat the ply wood? I love takin mine to tournaments and fishin with the big boys and takin there money! nothin better than winnin in a 800$ boat goin against 30,000$ rigs.Did ya put a live well in? Mine seys Igloo on it, but works fine. Again NICE JOB!
  5. I would say anything over 15# would be fine. Ya can't go wrong with 100% fluoro great line! I use 15# for all my flippin and pitchin, but that's me. Don't care for braid but alot of guys won't flip or pitch without it. It,s mostly personal preference!
  6. I hear ya shamster. that's exactly what I did to learn different presentations. I would recomend sunrise and sunset for topwater . Be careful the first topwater bass you Hook you might just be Hooked yourself! As with anything practise, practise, practise! Good Luck and welcome to the greatest sport there is!!
  7. Thanks fellas, I think i'm going to try the 4/0. Didn't know if anyone might be havin the same problem with XPS hooks. There deceint especially for the price! Seem plenty sharp. I did pick up a small bag of gammys g-lock today just to see if there's any difference.
  8. I'm pretty sure the bionic blade rods are on sale right now. there deceint rods for the sale price (50$) you might want to look around on E-bay, I would by New thow I've been taken buyin used on there! :-[ The Lightning rods are hard to beat for the money thow!! I still use a 6' spin to skip under docks and I have alot of Top-end rods.
  9. I'm an avid tube fisher. I'm usin the XPS magnum widegap in 2/0 and 3/0 to throw 3.5 and 4" tubes (BPS). Sunday i took my boys to the pond to play around and caught alot of LMB's 2-4pnds, but I missed quite a few on the hookset, ounce I hooked em I didn't loose um but in a tournament I would of been pulling my hair out! > Was just wondering what hooks you all use for tubes. I usually T-Rig them as I fish mostly laydowns, brush and pretty thick cover.Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks.
  10. I have 3 Revo's and the Winch. 0 problems with them. Great reels! 8-)
  11. It,s very tough line and managable. I used it on my spinnerbait rod and loved it. The line seems alittle large in diameter. I pulled in a 36" musky on 10# maxx with no problems.I now use BPS exel mono for the price, but maxx is good stuff!
  12. I can't speak for the Avid, but I fish a Kistler Helium 6'9 MHF throwin worms & tubes and Love it. By far my favorite stick! Would definately give it a look if I were you Vinny!
  13. I Have to say the Chatterbait. Never had a bump on them things! All mine are now custom swim jigs.
  14. I perfer quality but I don't buy quality rods and reels unless I can get at least forty percent off but you can find sales if you have the patience. X2 Ya got to LOVE E-Bay got most of my rigs for 1/2 price. Definetaly quality over quantity!
  15. I've also been thinkin about going with Megastrike. The guys on another forum i'm on swear by the stuff, so i ordered some. I guess it isn't really a scent but a scent masker. They also said if ya fish the cabbage that it helps keep your bait from collecting grass. I'll post back when I get to use some!
  16. My name is Rick live in NE Ohio. I fish Atwood, Tappan, Leesville, Saltfork, and sometimes Westbranch.Have a 14' homemade Bass Taxi. Love throwin Tubes!! GO BUCKEYES!!!!
  17. IMO Ilike ABU, but Shimano makes great stuff! It,s all about personal preferences. (But puttin a revo on a Shimano rod just seems wrong. The Abu Winch is my personal favorite reel I've ever owned paired it with a kistler(E-Bay) and WOW I love that combo! Just my 2cent.
  18. Hey Guys and Gals. Been usin 100% trillene for acouple years. Lookin for something less expensive. I retie alot and fish alot of wood an brush. Any suggestions?? :-/
