Big Fish Feed Midday?
We'll a lot has to do with what time you can fish from a personal point of view. Also maybe a factor is where you live. The last good fish I got was on Christmas Eve and got it a little bit after 12:00. From about 11-1 I got 4 bites that day and caught 3. The one that got off would of been another 5# fish. This topic has been brought up many times and I can for sure say 10-2 11-1 or whatever is the time frame I have caught more fish over 5# in.

Centrifugal Braking
Personally I think diawas braking is the best. I cast pretty much equally between lews and diawas. For lews it is either 1 or 2 brakes and on diawas I go 4-8 on mags. No tension and very little to no thumb usually. They both work excellently.

New Bps Catalog
They don't have lots of things in the catalog. The only thing I looked at was the swimbaiting section and it's a laugh. I also flipped through reels really quickly. The personal reviews they add make make me laugh. The revo MGX has one next to it that say something like "I love this reel!" After reading that it's settled. My next reel is going to be a MGX.

Why Copoly?
You can fishing anything you want with copoly. I don't have a rod set up with mono for spooks ect. That's pointless when copoly does is just as we'll maybe better.

- Tungsten Worth The Expense?
To me there is also a massive difference. Maybe my rods and line are crap or the calluses on my hands dull my senses. Whatever it is I find it very hard to not use them anymore.- Using Chatterbait>>>>>>>>>
- Tungsten Worth The Expense?
I think there is a huge difference in sensitivity. Bump a stick or rock or something and it is night and day to me compared to lead. I happen to have a ton of tungsten weights I never had to pay for so it is a non issue to me really. But when I did have buy them it killed me to pay $4-5 or whatever it is for like 3 stupid weights. I totally understand where people are coming from.- Lure Color For Treated Pond
Copper sulfate is widely used and is a staple pretty much of pond management. It is not for killing weeds although it might stunt them briefly and kind of knock them down a little. It is used to stop alge blooms like slime. You wasting $ if your trying to use it to kill weeds. We use reward and a surfactant for weeds. In a 8 acre pond we use about a bag every year. I think they are 50# bags.- Tungsten Worth The Expense?
That's funny.- Tungsten Worth The Expense?
It is for sure worth it IMO. Tungsten and gold are almost exactly the same weight. I use to calibrate the CMM's at a place that made tungsten parts and if you didn't know it was tungsten and went to pick up even something small you would be like holy!- Dumbest Or Most Silliest Things Said To You Or Heard While Fishing
I don't really know since everyone says dumb stuff. I guess the most common is "did you just catch that?" and "is that a real fish?" In reality there is actually no real fish involved and they are talking about swimbaits. It's even more ridiculous when its a jointed hard bait with giant trebles hanging off. Sometimes I wonder what people think real fish look like and if they have ever actually seen one other then a filet in a store.- Swimbait Help???
Well at that price range I would say maybe a Diawa dx. I have not heard anything bad about them. Other popular rods are around 150 or more. Lots of people like the okumas and irods are not a bad buy either. Also as Raul said and I have basically told everyone who makes these 3oz max threads. Don't sell your self short on the rodand chances are you will want to go heavier. You can always throw lighter but not really heavier when your talking about big baits.- Swimbait Help???
- Buying A Jdm Rod From Japan
I don't really get hit with to many fees on baits. There is the shipping fee and depending on where you get it a fee for the place that gets the item then sends it to you.- No Love For Mitchell?
I saw tons of people talking about avocet reels. I actually have the silver and gold ones. They are ok I suppose but I would not recommend them for continuous fishing. Both of those reels are wasted now.- Lews Carbon Fire Speed Spool?
The main gear or pinion gear was beat and needed replaced. I don't think it is that great a reel anyways. It is the red reel and they sell them at DSG? That's the only place I ever seen that reel before. I asked to look at one because I had never seen it and couldn't get the side plate off. The guy behind the counter gave me crap about opening it up to look at it. He kept telling me that it didn't come off and please stop before I break it...- Bait Suggestions Needed
You should still probably be able to fish a lipless crank even with it being weedy. You just need to reel faster and try holding your tip up if you have to. Yes water is cold and everything moves slower and fish won't chase. There is truth to that but at the same time it is also not true. Your best option with a lipless is probably really quick pauses or pops or drags. You can cover tons of water and find a active fish. As for locating fish in a 9 acre pond that probably doesn't matter at all. Actually I just located them for you. They are everywhere, literally. What you want to locate is one that wants to bite. Any where you cast there is probably fish within say 15'. If you can't catch them on slower more methodical techs then try to trigger a reaction bite.- Clicking Drag Star?
I am not sure what you mean by that. They both wear down and neither will always stay the same. If I was setting tension I judge it by the baits fall. If it is drag then by pulling line. Drag never really gets messed with for me as I don't loosen my drag on ever reel each time I fish but I will check them sometimes. Tension if I ever really used it would change constantly throughout a day.- Using Chatterbait>>>>>>>>>
I really like the booyah blade but the flexible hook is stupid I think.- My First Xmas Eve Fish?
It's a LiveTarget bluegill vibration trap and I think it's the half ounce one. It casts crazy far even for a lipless and sinks like a rock. I can hit backing all day with it. It's not really a good bait for ripping grass though cause it sinks crazy fast. They are kind of roundish and don't have that tight fast wobble like flat sided baits and the rattle is deeper. They are a good bait and seem to draw the bigger bites. It would be great if it was easier to keep out of grass and clear.- My First Xmas Eve Fish?
I am pretty sure I have never fished on Xmas eve or Xmas. Any ways it was like 50+ out today so of course I had to go for a little while. Since I hooked a good one and never fished on this holiday I figured it was "special" so I actually took a pic and thought I would share since I never take pictures any more or even post fish I have caught. I hooked into one a little smaller like 15 minutes earlier and it popped off like 10' away. I forgot this crank had dull hooks that of course I never sharpened or changed out. I ended up playing it all silly like Ike. I usually swimbait my fish in and that means cranks really hard and fast and show it who is boss. But not this time anyways. I still stand by the fact that the LiveTarget lipless are just a big fish bait. Its just one of those baits that gets bigger bites for me.
