I got some lead free jigs from Siebert Outdoors and can not be happier with them. Great service and workmanship. I can not say enough good things about Mike. I actually didn't know cadman was producing lead free jigs, good for him, he's one of the most helpful peeps in the tacklemaking section you'd ever want to meet.

Which do you think your leader will come through the guides easier?

I went lipless crankbait for the first time this year after reading many posts about using red and lipless cranks in cold water...Three in a few hours in low 40*'s was enough to convince me.

The blades will act just like this inline version:

Here's an inline experiment that went awry...in my mind actually...I made this a couple of winters ago and it still makes it out of my tackle box on those ocassions when the bass are being less cooperative: Well, maybe it didn't turn out to be an inline. As I was building, I had some wire left that was long enough, so I tried the safety pin version of a twin spin musky lure...crazy huh? This has given me some fun days of bass fishing. EDIT: Here's the same spinnerbait cleaned up with a new skirt and zonker strip: Should be a good spring bait.

Looks like a Lazy Ike. I believe a google search is needed Tuckahoe. Maybe a history on the lazy Ike, it may reveal a knock off or maybe that was part of a series?

Thanks for the compliment Rooster, much appreciative. Matching blade size to body weight is everything with inlines and there really isn't much wiggle room either. The baits you see above are #4 blades with either a 5/16 oz body or a 3/8 oz body. The spacer is actually not decorative, it's used to keep the blade off the skirt, but more importantly for easier startup. Ever fish an inline where you have to jerk the rod tip to get the blade to start up? These you don't need the jerk and it's a lot easier for a stop and go type retrieve because the blade will start spinning right out of the gate. The spacer is a piece of insulation from an electrical wire and fits over the wire shaft of the bait perfectly. The Owner hook is bent a little at the hook eye and you can take that 3" grub and t-rig it to be completely weedless if you want. Throw that bait anywhere you want to throw it...heck, use it like a jig with a little bling on it. Experiment away, the possibilities are endless and you can always improve on the design. You can pick up some real diamonds in the rough at Dicks Sports. I found some 1.99 Strike King spinnerbaits with tandem blades, gold main blade and ball bearing swivels. I think they were made or packaged by mistake as the majority of these were nickel blades and crane swivels. I picked up the 2 with gold blades and ball bearing swivels, paid and ran outta the store knowing I just got a steal.... LOL

I had participated in a thread about a week or two ago and I commented on Goose52's ability to catch really nice oinkers on lipless cranks. I also read a lot of posts from our well respected members recommending using craw colors especially red in the spring season. Well I was at Dick's Sports and picked up the only red lipless Cordell crank and a chrome - blue back - orange belly Rattle Trap (I believe Sam recommends this color pattern) and have had success so far with them. I gotta admit, it's been 10 years plus since I threw a lipless crank and I have to thank Goose52 for his posts and pics for the inspiration.

How were the water temps? I believe the waters on the cape were iced out a few weeks prior to around here.
