Spinnerbait Questions
1. Small tie wrap, thin wire or I use rod builders thread will keep you skirt material on 2. Hammered blades will flash light in multiple directions giving the illusion of multiple baitfish where smooth gives the illusion of one larger fish 3. I always put on a snap for easier blade changes. There are multiple areas on a spinnerbait that collects weeds so I don't mind the trade off. If I think a different blade will work better then I'd rather make a quick change with a snap than use the time to tie a new bait on Good luck and be sure to post some of your creations!

Strike King Bitsy Bug Jig
CPBass, I see nothing wrong with your post, the OP asked for your opinion and you gave it with back-up information. Nothing to be ashamed in what you did. I see that you are fairly new here and may not have viewed the many posts about defective SK lures that have been purchased and have been replaced by the fine customer service folks at Strike King. They are probably the most user friendly folks in the industry, so if you have a defective product, give them a call, there are reports that they not only replace the product, but also ship extras at no charge. Now if you don't like a product that's fine too, but IMHO, give them another whirl, maybe your opinion might change. One other thing, there is a rep from SK who is a member here, he doesn't sign on a lot, but he his a member.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I was able to get out and fish for about an hour and a half yesterday after work and manage 6 fish ranging from 2 lbs to a little less than a lb. Nothing big, but fun none the less. I was using a Siebert Outdoors bizmouth alloy jig head with my own hand tied skirt and a Power Team Lures grub with a little Megastrike dabbed on. I was using the Tuff Line Supercast 20# braid (free 100 yd spool) tipped with a PLine CXX leader. The grub you see on the jig is a very durable grub as it caught all my fish yesterday as well as 6 or 7 from a previous outing. I recommend these lures if you haven't tried them yet and not just the grubs, they have a really nice line up for reasonable prices. The Tuff Line braid is my third outing using it and although I'm very happy thus far with it, I will reserve comment until I'm able to go out and fish it a few more times. So far, I really like it. Good luck all!

Limiting Lure Selection
Absolutely. I have a few more baits and techniques I use than the ones you listed and still get skunked once in a while...Heck it happens, just rack it up to a bad fishing day and hit it again another day. It's still fishing, you can't control a bite.

Mono?
I switched to copolymers from mono a couple of years agao. I like PLine C21 and CXX. I got in the free spool of Tuf-Line Supercast recently (just pay shipping), and will be using/trying that next month.

I Love Rat'l'traps
They sure do, I caught 3 last week on a red craw Spot on the north side of the pond. The south side still had ice on it. Very low water temps.

Bucket Fishermen
They just stocked our waters with trout and those peeps I see are pretty ignorant, but the good news is, they're gone in a couple of weeks til October. Grin and bear it.

I Got My Siebert Jig Order Today, Yaaaaaay!!!
You can fish it like a spinnerbait, rip it like a lipless crank, lift drop, helicopter, it flat out works. I can't take credit for it, keith71 posted one in the tacklemaking forum and I pm'd permission to try the idea. The swivel is actually a mistake, I ran out of BB swivels when I made this, but this split ring is tied in, but you can attach like a spinnerbait trailer. Thanks for the kind posts bassbill and Bass Thumb.

I Got My Siebert Jig Order Today, Yaaaaaay!!!
Good deal Hootie, you're gonna really like them. I got 10 jig heads from Mike and I think I had them in my mail box 3-4 days after order. I told Mike what I needed the jig to do and he gave me his recommendations. Here's a jig head he sent that I made a switchblade with: Already a proven winner thanks to Mike.
