Dobyns Fury
I've got a 735 you can handle if you want at some point when I have meetings closer to your office. A buddy of mine that works in Waterbury is a Dobyns Pro Staff he might be able to help. Nice living in and working for a tiny state.

Favorite early season jerkbaits?
I'll pile on... X-Raps Pointer 100 and 78 Clunn Rogue all already mentioned. 40-50 degrees for me I would add. LC Slender Pointer 97 KILLS smallies in cold water up here. LC Flash Minnow for working those areas that are 5' or so deep with rocks (they are shallow baits and don't snag much).

Best casting rod under 150$
If you are not looking at Daiwa Tatula rods, you are doing a disservice to yourself.

Spring Classic flyer out
The ProMariner 3 Bank Charger is a good deal. But it seems to be the same sale as the last 5.

Budget Swimbait Reel?
300 for smaller swimbaits

Calling out the diawa guys
SV105. OG Zillion Variants (used at this point) I really enjoyed the T3 models for flipping, just squeezing your hand would re-engage.

Mod fast spinnerbait rods
Think of Daiwa's "regular" as "Dobyns like". They are mod fast.

Daiwa Lexa and Tatula spools?
Appreciate it

Mod fast spinnerbait rods
Then look at the 7' MLR Tatula. 12" handle

Mod fast spinnerbait rods
Dobyns Furys with a Dobyns Sierra 6'8" medium for your jerkbaits. I love the Daiwa Tatula line of rods. Not a stinker in the line. 7'1" or the 7'2" MHR are great spinnerbait, swimbait, chatterbait rods.

Daiwa Lexa and Tatula spools?

Daiwa Lexa and Tatula spools?
Anyone know (or can check) if the Tatula spool will fit in a Lexa or Exceler 100 baitcasting reel? Thank you in advance.

I need all new rods....what to get?
For ME: Avid or Avid-X 7' MH Fast for the Rigging and Jigs (light cover pitching) 7' MH Moderate for the cranks 6'10" MLXF for the Drop Shot 7'4" H Fast for the Pitching in heavier stuff.

Spy bait rod?
a 3000 Shimano is the same as a 2500 Shimano, just a slightly different spool.
-
Spy bait rod?
I went up to the same company's 7'7" ML Green model for Spybaits. The longer rod really helps get the LONG casts that really help with this technique. 7lb Sniper and a 2500 Shimano reel and you have a great Ned, DS and Spybait set up.

Dobyn's Fury 663c for jerkbaits/topwater
Keep an eye on the handle length. the 6'6" Savy's and Fury's are 14". You might not get along with the longer handle while working the bait. I've borrowed a buddy's 6'6" savy and what hitting my forearms with the handle. The Sierra has a Medium 6'8" that's got a 13.5" handle... That's a bit nicer for sure. Champions have 6'3" model with a 12" handle and a 6'8" with 13" that's a much nicer set up.

Show the weirdest bass you ever caught
This is a 5.9 Champlain Smallie with the normal nose. Locals in the up there said that there are a bunch of the tiny nosed ones swimming around.

Show the weirdest bass you ever caught
Snub-nosed creatures of the St Lawrence. Mine (weigh in picture) was 5.2, the other 5.9. The upper section of the jaw/head seemed to have stopped growing at around 2 lbs. Thing is.... there are a lot of fish like this up there.
