Really weird, my PB didn't look as big as this one:

It was either this one, pooping out a Roboworm while chewing on another lure (weird & rude)

 

 

 

 

Or this one, who had major delusions of grandeur

 

 

Trd worm stretched out and caught his fin on the fight

This one was more deformed than the picture showed, but obviously doing just fine otherwise.

This one was shaped more like a sunfish than a bass.

This one was a very healthy fish, but it had the black spots all over it. Usually it's just a spot or two, but this one was very spotted.

 

Here's another hyperpigmented melanosis bass. Very cool looking fish, I think she was just shy of 5lbs, post spawn.

Talk about a football. 'bout 13" long and 20" around. 

 

Here's one where his head grew faster than his body

 

Very long and thin spotted bass. Even had the goggle eye, just too thin:

 

Very Black smallie. Not that unusual on Erie but even the stomach and fins were dark as night:

 

Very yellow Drum. Was my biggest recorded one, a bit over 13lbs. Yes, I am wearing broken sunglasses and look like a dufus:

These hyperpigmented melanosis bass look like they are cross bred with koi.

That's some pretty neat looking fish out there and a few weird ones. I don't have a picture of the one I caught but it looked like it had something wrong with its back.

Caught a gut hooked bass on a crankbait and was able to remove the hook.

 

That's great! Did it make it?

Forgot about this one! She was 23" long, caught her in December two years ago. Blind in one eye and all sorts of beat up.

It swam away not bleeding. I hope so. It was a healthy looking fish.

We catch pike up here in the spring that make your bass look completely healthy. During the pike post spawn they feed voraciously and it's not uncommon to catch 20 or 30 pike in a day that are all beat to spit from the spawn.

I think she was sick and had been attacked by otters. There is a pretty big population of them on that small stretch of river and they often will just kill fish for no reason, or kill them and eat only the tail or a small bite of them. When there is ice on the banks there will be dozens of big shad, bluegills, crappie, and some bass laying on top of it from the otters.

A good otter pelt is worth some money... Just sayin.

I agree with what IndianaFinesse said and I can't stand otters. If they're gonna eat a bass at least eat all of the meat and don't waste it. Even though I hate seeing a bass die.

This one was tonight. She couldn't have weighed more than a few oz, but she was all mouth.

What exactly is that?

Oh now I see that in the parentheses. 

I don`t remember taking a pic,but once caught an offset lmb.A top view revealed it  to have a perfect 1" offset midbody. It was about 14".

I see lots of fish with bite marks from otters, cormorants or maybe turtles. Of the three,  cormorants annoy me the most.
