Daiwa 100H Trillionaire Low Profile Baitcast Reel
It honestly just looks like an Exceler made for a certain store, like Dick's or something. For example, when's the last time you say a Daiwa Takara anywhere but dick's? I'd say it doesn't really matter between the Exceler and Millionaire, just pick the one with the right gear ratio for you.

Tried The New Vendetta?
IIRC the older guides were Zirconium as well, but I wish they would have kept the ACS, that is my favorite reel seat. Heck, the could have just used a split ACS and instead of the stupid custom one they made.

Have A 7:1:1 Reel & Getting A 6'10"-7' Med Hev. Fast Rod, What Would You Use This For? Can This Be Used For Topwaters?
It will work, just make sure to play the fish and dont horse him in.

Yes, shallow cranks dont pull near enough resistance to warrant a low speed reel, where it's almost necessary for deep divers due to lower torque and wrist fatigue

For shallow square bills, you can get away with crankbaits, and you can get away with Rattle-traps, but it's not ideal IMO

For me personally that would be an excellent blade bait set-up, and will be fine for topwaters, for topwaters I use an XF action, you just cant yank them in, get a solid sweeping hookset (Not to hard, and not too fast) and make sure to play the fish well.

Poll Which Reel
Well everyone is going to have their personal preference and you cant really go wrong with any of the above reels, But I would personally go with the STX or the Chronarch.

Tried The New Vendetta?
If you guys are saying that you like it better than the Veritas, I might have to go check one out. However, I'm very aware of the Abu hype that gets spread over the interwebs. I might pick one up during the Holidays to put it through it's paces. I must say though, I hate the new reel seat on. Those are just uncomfortable for me

What he said. For those techniques, your more or less moving the bait, no necessarily bottom bouncing the whole time. I would get two avid's, they're fantastic rods for the price, albeit a little more tip heavy, but it shouldn't be very noticeable with the medium power. But ultimately it's up to you whether or not you want to swing it for an Extreme, or two avids.- The Official Is It Christmas Yet Thread.
Still not Christmas, but I got all my shopping done early for my family, now I just need to get my lady something next paycheck and i'll be set. Just put my tree up yesterday, put the Troy Aikman ornament at the top of the tree.... Lets see how long until momma notices it and takes it down Im starting to get in the spirit, and I cant wait until the annual Christmas eve party at my grandmothers!- Powell Dobyns Loomis
The Powell will be your best bet, the only thing the Savvy has going for it is its balance, which isn't anything to right home about. Otherwise the blank felt very dead and the opposite of crisp. I've never owned a GL2, so I cant comment from first person experience, but from everybody's opinion they are not worth it. Now on to the Powell Max vs. Endurance, their is only one real difference between the two, the Endurance has one size smaller guides through-out the rod from the standard size guides on the Max. The only other difference is slightly different lengths and tapers. Plus it's purple. I personally like the Endurance a bit better because of the smaller guides. It offers a bit of a "micro" advantage, but their not even close to micro which can be a hassle. Otherwise, blanks are the same. The real question is is the price difference worth a size smaller guides to you.- Veritas Uncertainty
A stiffer rod is not a more sensitive rod, your example is comparing apples to oranges (Rock to mud). Where as fishing rods are the same material, and whether it is stiffer or more whippy the material stays the same (with variables in thickness) so the properties that transmit the vibrations are the same and there is no difference in sensitivity provided they are the same rods with the same components.- The End Of The World
Im wondering what the population difference will be the next day.- Abu/shimano Shootouts - Post Links
Lol yup. As soon as I heard his voice I ended the video.- Is There An App For This Forum?
There isn't an app that im aware of but there is a mobile version of the forums if you visit through your browser. Thats what I use.- Abu/shimano Shootouts - Post Links
Unless you are a member of a different posse, vs. threads are usually all bias. Being a the Daiwa Guy that I am, I will say I prefer the Curado E to the Revo S and SX, but i'll take an STX over an E anyday. (Performance wise, not reflecting price tag,)- The Official Is It Christmas Yet Thread.
No. I saw this somewhere and I couldn't resist sharing. Lol- An Idea For You Guys Who Ship Rods In The Mail
I feel like 2 2x4's would bend more than a nice length on PVC from home depot, you dont even need screw ends, just stuff the bottom ends with bubble wrap then cover the **** out of it with packing tape. I've done this a plenty of times and all the rods got there undamaged and fine. Plus I would think PVC would weigh less than two "light" 2x4's so shipping would be cheaper.- If You Had To Pick One???
Never owned a Denali, but I was very unimpressed with the Dobyns Savvy. The only things going for it is it's balance and it looks cool. Thats about it. I thought it felt kinda dead, and not very crisp. I know its not on your "poll", but take a good look at Powell Rods. They're cheaper than a Dobyns and MUCH better, IMO they are the best rods out for under $200. Check out the review I wrote on them here by using the search feature or google it. - Some Questions
