  1. Well folks, its black friday, Im full of turkey, and there is no school! So i'll be reviewing a fan favorite today. Info: Seaguar InvizX 15# // BPS Carbonlite // Falcon Bucoo 7' H/MF // SHIMANO Crucial 7' M/XF. NO Line conditioner. Spinnerbaits, small cranks, t-rigs. Apperance: 9/10 First off, It seems many companies have a spiffy looking package these days, and Seaguar is no slouch. The blue and yellow color scheme on the unusual, but clean cut and interesting plastic case really does something for me. Something original is always a +1 in my book. Overall, I like the color of the line, it was a nice clear color but I found in dirty, nasty water it stained, but nothing a quick rinse of the spool couldn't fix at the end of a trip. First Impressions: 9.9/10 At the start, I had trouble trying to undo the plastic shell. Then I realized there was a tab holding the side on :. Silly me. Upon first taking the spool out, I looked for a line holding system, so my spool wouldn't come undone from its perfect lay. I was happy to see a sticker, and a line crimp to hold my line in place. I'm also a fan of the perfect winding they have, so the line never crosses. And when I pulled a yard or so off the spool, it was nice and memory free 8-) Spooling Up // First casts 9/10 After taking the line out of the package and admiring its design, it was spool up time! I put the line on my spool up rig, set the tension, and loaded it onto my Carbonlite. About halfway through the reeling process, I was like, "Man, for 15# this sure lays nice." IMO it layed on the spool better than 90% of lines i've personally used. There were no "lumps" on the spool, which is quite common when I use lower quality lines, and it didn't want to cross line on the same layer. I was in fact, very pleased. And we all know that feeling of "I just got brand new fishing stuff, im going to use it now." So off to the yard I went for a few "Practice Casts." I tied on a 1/4 ounce spinnerbait, and was thoroughly suprised. I got alot of distance, and no professional overrun. This was something I really like because all my previous experiences with Fluorocarbon ended up with poor distance, poor knot strength, and horrible backlashes worthy of a chainsaw. But me not being used to the nice distance, got my lure stuck in a tree, 15 ft off the ground. > Dag Nabbit! Well atleast I could test my knot/line strength. I cut the line from my reel, and wrapped it around a peice of wood laying around. So as I pull, snap! But not the line, the small tree branch came down with my straightened spinnerbait hook. I knew this line was great then. Initial Performance: 8.95/10 Well, you can't just test line in your backyard. You have to put it in real world fishing conditions. So off to the home waters of Curtis Lake I went. It looked like a nice day for spinnerbaits. So on went ol' Lucky Bluetruese and immediately got a nice hit. Set the hook and landed him. Only a dink, but I got a feel for the sensitivity of the line. I will have to say though, harder fluoros like XPS or AbrazX were slightly more sensitive, due to the lower stretch than InvizX. As the spinnerbait bite died off, the crank bite turned on. I found that this line was getting my cranks a little deeper, drawing more strikes, but none-the-less, I still have never hooked and landed a crank fish :-[ After that I went to some good ol' texas rigged plastics and hauled them in for a while to get a good feel for the sensitivity. You have a nice feel and can tell when a fish picks up your worm, but as stated before some harder fluoro's are slightly better. Then the rains came and off the water I went. Lasting Performance: 8/10 After fishing this line for about two weeks everyday, I gave it a nice rest on my reel for a week, to see the memory build up, if any. Just like almost every line out there (except braid of course) it had some memory, but nothing substantial. After a good cast the memory left. One thing that I didn't like was the poor abrasion resistance. I know this is not Seaguar's abrasion resistant advertised line, but after 3 weeks I expected a little more. Not saying it was horrible, but was just expecting a little more. The sensitivity did stay the same through out the use of the line also, which I really liked. Value: 9/10 For the ~$20 you pay for 200 yards, I thought it was money spent very well. Sure it's not $10 like mono, but I feel the performance increase and longevity of this line is well worth the extra $10. Also, my reel held about 100 yards of this line, so the 200 yds of line was well thought out by Seaguar (intentionally or unintentionally) to have exactly two spoolings. This was pretty cool to me because I loathe those spools just sitting around with in 25 yds or so. Good job Seaguar 8-) Conclusion // Final Rating 9.5/10 Overall I would recommend this line to anyone. There's no wonder this line has become a very popular line with a lot of people standing behind it. It has some very nice sensitivity while staying as manageable, if not more manageable than Trilene Big game. And what you get for the money is probably one of the best values today in the fishing line market. Durability and memory over time is no issue with this line and will last atleast a month (How long I used it) if not more. Its easy to see this line on the shelf, and easy to see why anglers prefer it. Now go to your local tackle shop and pick up a spool if you haven't already 8-) This has been a BASSclary production.

  5. I was dissapointed that he fumbled, but I was down right mad that he was smiling about it. He had the same smile on his face when he dropped two balls earlier in the game. Dropping a ball is a part of the game. Fumbling is going to happen. But, it's not funny. > In my opinion that was an excellent defensive play more so than a screw up by Williams. I'll agree it was a great defensive play. they jumped on him and stripped the ball. Not entirely Williams fault, but then again he could've ran faster : And Preach, I think him smiling was more his way of dealing with what was happening. Sometimes people need to laugh and smile to relieve themselves, while there are other people who we saw, like Dez Bryant, who was mad about a play 4 plays later. Just personal ways of coping with mistakes. And I do forgive Beuhler for that kick. He had the distance which im not sure alot of kickers could boot it 59 yards.
  6. 3 points and it was a close game. Now only if Roy hadn't fumbled... :
  7. Is that a broken antler on the right? or is that just the perspective.
  8. Well this in itself is a very personal statement regarding balance. I personally CANNOT fish with a rod that's overly tip heavy. I have personally told Keith at Powell this. Personally, for me, it's a comfort thing. If you're 20 something, then it's not an issue. If you're 50-60 years old like some of us are, the arm muscles are a bit old and tired to begin with, balance can make or break a fishing day. The second part of your statement is what I have stated. If you're younger, no issues. Those young studs on the BASS tour can beat you with a broomstick ... been there done that; getting beat that is. LOL! You guys amaze me, now Ive heard it all. How did you guys ever fish prior to the Dobyns rod? I fish with a 70 year old retired Navy guy that smokes like a choo choo train. He cant stand and fish for a day, yet he has no problem fishing any kind of rod. Between you and David and your outlandish claims Im roflmao. Its no wonder more people fish now. It must be the great balance in the Dobyns rods. Not sayin Dobyns rods are not good, they are great rods. However both of you claims are hog wash. Someone asks for advice and you post a bunch of crap. If you can hold a Powell rod and fish for the day then there is another issue.. Im sure a Steez or new Loomis NRX would be even better. Its a fricking fishing rod. I know David is too young to know, but your claims are outlandish at best. My guess is you would catch just as many fish with a Berkley Lightening rod. Its just a tool, wake up! So what your saying is, in a different circumstance, but same principles apply, is that if you told a 5 year old to pound nails all day with a hammer, and you gave him a 24 oz hammer, that he could swing it just as long as a 16 oz hammer? Pshh, yeah right. And we all know we all can catch fish with any friggin' rod. Yes we can. I think what we're all trying to say is that a better more balanced rod is more ENJOYABLE to fish. We're NOT saying you cant catch fish with it. Would you rather fish with a uber light, sensitive, and cool looking Steez, or would you rather fish an heavier, unbalanced, not so sensitive Ugly Stik? Most will answer the Steez because it makes it more enjoyable. Nobody wants to be uncomfortable. But you can use whatever you like SeanW
  9. Revo S, Citica, Pro Qualifier just to name a few of the popular ones. See if you have a friend that will let you borrow a right and left setup first, because I retrieve with my left on spinning, but retrieve and cast/thumb with my right on casting.
  10. Bassn, I dont think I could've thought of a prank like this If I tried. And the last thing I need is more people annoyed by me : ;D Seriously though, not me. I was just as suprised as everyone else was.

  14. After fishing a friend's Powell and my Uncle's Saavy, I like the Saavy more. The balance suited me a tad more, but that could've just been the different reel weights. The sensitivity felt about the same to me, also. And Dobyns wins in the looks category to IMO.
  15. Bassn, next time you reply on this thread it better be from your phone at the medical man's place of business

No really, you're right. My girlfriend of 3 months's dad saw a hickey I gave her. He was cool about it, but still. I won't do it again. I respect her and her parents opinion of me matters too much haha. Scary. I just feel like people need to protect themselves incase of a problem. Been on that same boat, except when it sank I believe you got on a life boat... I went down with the ship haha. You're right. Completely Scary. Up here in Stafford you get chased by rednecks with god knows what kind of weapon. You're not a redneck ????????? I know im not. I didn't say I was, but just about everbodies parents are lol.
  17. I think RLR is the "Most Notorious Man In the Universe", but with a little just for men. Stay fishing my friends ;D

  23. And make sure to have sweat pants handy so you don't feel your belly grow
  24. My uncle has it and i've used it Nice setup, the looks of them together are just gravy.
  25. Straight Cash Homey. Its hard to not mess that up. I have a Grandma that likes to order knock-offs from catalogs. Those Banjo minnows really do suck But the reason I prefer cash for fishing gear is, If i asked for only BPS gift cards, i'd get 50 in BPS, 25 in gander MT, 25 for DICKS, 15 for Sports Authority, and 25 for Wally World. Thats 140 for 5 different stores, and if your saving for a nice pole or something, BPS doesn't take Gander MT and Wally world cards. But BPS does take cash Just my experiences and thoughts.
