Knots for Flourocarbon
Personally, I like to use Berkley Vanish floro rather than the Pro. I think it flows through the guides better and is less visible under water (and sometimes above!). Up on LI, we don't get too many fish more than 5-7 lbs, so 10lb test has always been good. The only time I really use braid is if I'm pitching into dense brush or getting deep into the lillies. The only knot I use is the improved clinch knot. I've been using this since I was a kid, for both salt and fresh, and like it was said above, a good knot is a good knot.

You Have Got To Watch This
Ive seen that before, but it never ceases to amaze me as to how good he is. The whole thing is choreographed great, and his execution is darned near perfect. And to top it off, he's using the Beatles for music. An A++ performance

Music gurus. I need help.
Two steps is all you need to know, my man, An A on the Bass cleff turns into a C on the treble cleff. So, your below the staff is a C below the staff. Just get yourself some manuscript paper and transpose it. Its good to learn how to transpose between bass and treble, especially if you're a serious musician. The hard part comes when you're transposing different keys, i.e. from a song in C to a song in E. It takes time, and you really have to know your scales, but like I said if you're serious, you'll want to learn how to do this anyway. BTW, I'm sure there's a transposing program out there for download, but I don't know of one sepcifically. Good luck and let us know how you did...

hunting dogs
If you're looking for a retriever, a lab is the way to go. Had one for years and he was great at bringing back ducks and at being a family friend. Black, Chocolate, or Yellow, they're all prety much the same dog with different colored fur. Goldens are great, but they're also a very, er, "randy" breed. I've seen too many goldens that will hump anything they can get near.

tragedy strikes alabama...and my family
Its a tragic situation that my heart goes out to. Not to be a prophet of doom or anything, but its only March 2nd and these twisters are already insane. What's gonna happen in April when tornado season really heats up?

What do you eat?
When it comes to eating when fishing, I try to keep it as simple as possible. An egg sandwich in the morning (which usually gets eaten before the boat is launched), and a couple PBJs for lunch is about all I need. For drinks, I'll bring 2 cups of coffee (cuz I know I'm gonna spill one), a litre of H2O, and a couple of Vitamin Waters, usually the power one, but the revive is a great one if I had been "over served" the night before.

Peoples court-bad decision-tuna charter
Its crazy what some people will consider the "law." I'm with you LBH, they guy doesn't know what he missed, and should be ashamed. I don't know any more, but a third of a 720lb. bluefin should be able to buy you all the albacore you can fit on 20 grills. Schmuck.

Encounter with a Whale
We'd see pilot whales and dolphins coming up behind the boat as we dragged the net aboard fairly regularly, maybe all of ten feet away. They'd look us right in the eye, I swear. Neat to watch them eat as we threw the by-catch over the side. Got to see some humpbacks on a couple trips. Never saw one actually breach, but they'd roll along and show all their flukes as they dove down. Very cool animals to see in motion.

Fav gun makers
Wow, I feel really out of place in this thread, seeing as I only have the Marlin 22, and I only use it once in a while for targets. I'm not a hunter anymore, but in my teens I had a couple Remingtons, 12 and 20 ga., and liked the 20 more than the 12 (better choke for geese).

going CRAZY
A buddy of mine got off the chaw a few years ago, and told me that "Big League Chew" bubble gum was great since it came in a pouch and he could wedge a blob in his mouth just like chaw, which somewhat alleviated the mental addiction

What was being fixed?
Sometimes they mods just have to go through and clean up the "junk" that slows down the bandwidth, or even do a virus scan. There's lots of things that could be done without you ever noticing them, but they still need to be done to keep the site moving along properly. Think of it as tuning up your car, you may not see anything new, but the performance is deffinately enhanced.
