Most annyoing things?
I wasn't going to get into this, but seeing as I thought about it last night while driving... The cel phones have to be put down, or at least go hands free, while driving. Cars have been equipped with turn signals for 50 years now. Use them BEFORE you turn. The cel phones have to be put down, especially in restaurants. If you use the last of something, especially if it isn't yours, replace it. (I hate reaching for a liquor bottle only to find that its empty. Same thing with the milk container. And ice cream.) Turn off the friggin' bass booster when you're at a light. If I wanted to hear your music, I'd be in the car with you. If someone holds the door open for you, make an effort to move through a little quicker so the person isn't waiting for you all day to get through the door. When someone talks to you, try to look at them once in a while, don't just stare off into space like a moron. I could go on and on and on and on, but I also get peeved by people who rant and rave...oh, er, um, heh

New to worm fishing
When the wind kicks up, fishing plastics can be tough, but I find that with patience you can have just as much luck. Start by using a little bigger bullet, maybe as heavy as 3/8 oz (or even 1/4 oz if you're into big water). If you're in a boat, try to cast into the wind (which will obviously cut down on the length of the cast, but will look better to bass) and try to keep your line a wee bit slack (the wind will probably do this for you). When you retrieve, make smaller movements as the wind will pick up the slack in your line and move it more than you think it will. This is important: Keep your eyes on the line going into the water, not on what out of the water. This will let you know when a fish is moving the bait and not just the wind playing your line.

wounds??
As long as you didn't tear any of the membranes in the gill, you shouldn't have to worry too much. That pink stuff in the gill plates is very sensative, I'm told, but otherwise, a small hook scar shouldn't kill it.

Walk up song for baseball
They play that in between innings or at other random times, but I don't think its anyone's "theme song". Also, not to be a tool, but the song is called "Baba O'Reilly." If you listen to the lyrics, you'd probably think like me that its not a really "happy" song. Its all about the fighting that's been going on in Northern Ireland since, well, forever...

Good Looking Bass on the Aqua View

LaDrunka
I think its good that he got caught, I don't condone DWI at all (which is weird seeing as I'm a bartender...). This should not be a baseball issue, though, it is purely a police matter and should be addressed as such. If the MLB DOES get involved, I will be annoyed. They truly have no jurisdiction over the matter, and its only because of the media that this has gotten any play at all. This doesn't mean I don't think he should be reprimanded by the Cardinals, they are his employers after all, but the MLB should keep their nose out and put their efforts into more productive areas, like finding a reliable test for HGH and steroids. Besides, when baseball gets involved, people get away with big crimes without much of a penalty. Remember Steve Howe? How many times did he get busted for cocaine yet never went to prison? Let the law handle the law and baseball handle baseball things. 'nuff said...

The BEST pair of Sunglasses!
I'm a big fan of the natives, I bought a pair last winter for skiing, and it turns out they work pretty darned good for fishing too. I will say, though, that when folded up, the ear guard leaves a smudge on the inside of the lens. My next pair will be natives, but I am sure I'll check to see how they fold.

New member- Hello and introduction
Howdy, hiya, hello, hey, and any other welcoming words that start with "h". You'll enjoy the time you spend here almost as much as the time you spend on the water.

What would be your fav lure if you were a bass?
I bought this weird lure called "The Creature" (looks like a crawdad with a skirt and rattle beads) because I thought the way you're asking. Never caught a fish on it, though.

Can bass see my braided line? Does it matter?
I was using braid exclusively until about mid-season last year. I switched to Vanish flouro and immediately my catch rate went up. Realize, though, that I fish exceptionally clear water (you can see down at least 15-20 feet), and I use 10# test. When I made the switch, I kept in mind that the flouro would work differently and tried to adjust my fishing to it. It took only about 5 casts to feel the difference, and I haven't looked back. The only time I use braid now is in heavy brush or when I'm working the lillies.

Work needed
Just look at yer name for the answer, dude! Become a gigalo! All you have to do is get the ladies to send themselves something through UPS, you go make the "delivery", and you wouldn't need to have a pimp! If you don't do it, maybe I just found my, ahem, calling in life...

Happy St. Patrick's day.
Aye, a pleasant St. Paddy's day to ya! Bangers and mash on me! (No, really, the waitress spilled my plate in my lap...) Here's a nice little St. Patty's day joke... Who's green and hangs out on the front porch? Patty O'Furniture

Will this winter ever end???
Yeah, this weather has me all screwed up, too. Tuesday and wednesday I was skiing nothing but mashed potatos from the top to the bottom of Killington, seeing as it hit almost 60 degrees, and of course the day I have to head home they're getting 15 inches of snow. Irony?

The IGFA and state fishing laws
Not to interupt this great debate you guys are having (and I mean that), but the IGFA may want into fresh water fishing spotlights, but I'll tell you, they are all over salt water fishing. Every major salt water tournament I ever attended had IGFA reps all over. Not to belittle our sport, but BASS fishing is small potatos compared to big game fishing. Thats where the money is, and that's where they spend their time. Generally speaking, the overall cost of big game fishing is TREMENDOUSLY larger than anything we'd even dream of in our bass fishing world. How many of us have a $2 million skeeter? This kinda leads to what Avid may have been getting to (unless I misunderstood) as to money being in charge here. To tuna, marlin, shark, and even striped bass fisherman, the IGFA is GOD.

To Peg or Not to Peg?
I have experimented with pegging, but I don't care for it. I think I get better action on the fall when the line can slide back through the bullet and let the bait fall more naturally. Also, on the retrieve, I think the sliding weight kicks up a little more silt from the bottom, making the bait look like its being chased and attracting more fish.

Anyway to "prevent raccoon" eyes?
I think like everyone else here. Sometimes I'll even go into the tanning bed with my fishing glasses so it looks like I've been fishing...j/k

House fire
Very sad to hear such a thing, I don't know how I'd be able to cope...Heck, I just about lost my mind when I had a flood last month, I can only imagine what a fire wiping me out would do...My prayers are with your friends...

Cat Woman
I think a catwoman would be the worst case scenario for high maintenance, a double dose of "ME ME ME ME" if I've ever seen one...
