  1. Found a Supreme XT 30 on Amazon for $68.
  2. I was introduced to this product at one of the Bass Resource RoadTrips. We all got free samples. Been using, and recommending it, ever since. One note of caution when applying L&L with a rag. Do not use cotton. This is straight from the people who make the product. They told us this when they introduce it to us, and explained it's benefits and application. Something about interfering with the ionic bond between the line and the product. I've slept a couple of times since that trip, so I dont remember the details. I have always suspected the reports of the product not working as advertised being the result of the use of cotton during application.
  3. I thought it was a rare largemouth peacock bass fish.
  4. But I can't shoot that well.
  5. No problem. Every person I've met on a Bass Resource RoadTrip has called me gotti, just like the gangster. It is, at the least, better than goatey. I heard that once, and that was enough.
  6. If you just replace the tip, you're going to find you can't cast as light a bait as you could before. The action will be slower. I'd try it. What do you have to lose? You might just find it good for something. Like larger paddle tails, slow rolling big spinnerbaits, c-rig, etc....
  7. There are a lot of Ambassadeurs in service. That one is a large reel. I'd use one that size for muskie, striper, catfish, big swim baits, etc.....
  8. You don't know the half of it, my friend. Welcome to Illinois; where our governors make our license plates.
  9. We haven't done this in awhile, and we have a lot of new members, so here we go. What's the scoop with your screen name? Some are obvious, some not at all. I'll start rough women's lotion ---gh---o----------ti ---f-----i-----------sh Clever, eh? Wish I lived up to it. The one that baffles me is Angry John. I've had several voice, text and email exchanges with the man, and I have to say he is about as far from angry as can be. I'm more inclined to call him Gentleman John. So, amigo. Wassup wit da name
  10. Sorry man. Couldnt help myself.
  11. Well, call me asleep at the wheel, but just what is cracking? I fish tubes a lot, and have never heard the term.
  12. Sam, that is top shelf stuff. You sweetie has some talent.
  13. Looks like its time for "Fluffy" to comment on this thread.
  14. ^^^THIS^^^ Before you spend any cash on spool bearings, either learn how to properly clean and lube your reel(s), or send it/them to Mike at Delaware Valley Tackle. I hate to admit how much money I spent on spool bearings before realizing I was pizzing away my money. If you buy a Daiwa or Shimano, or a made in Sweden Ambassadeur, the spool bearings do not need to be "upgraded". Unless, of course, you are one of those who has to have the most expensive toys.
  15. A pencil, run through the spool of line, clamped in my toes. Never have to look to hard to find it.
  16. Might have to try that. Pretty sure the fish wont care if I smell like a girl. LOL
  17. Never heard "em called cheese mats, but I agree; good places to check when it's hot and sunny.
  18. That kind of thing should be here: https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/forum/7-fishing-locations/
  19. What you are noticing is a bit a back play ine anti-reverse bearing. Nothing to worry about. If it really bothers you, you could tear it down, deep clean the entire reel since you have it apart, and do a proper lube job. There's likely grease in the IAR bearing. Lube that, once it's clean, with a drop of oil on a swab. It may tighten it up a bit.
  20. You beat me to the punch.
  21. Sport peppers are a lot skinnier than pepperocini, and quite a bit hotter.
  22. That is amazing, it came back, from what I can see, little worse for wear. Just dirty.
  23. I take two. I have one rod holder behind the seat where I store the rod I'm not using. A second rod holder is between my feet. I use it when I need both hands free for something. The two rods I take depends, on what I think I need for that day. They are chosen from the rods I have and use for boat and bank fishing. I have no yak specific gear. I use two short lengths of small diameter nylon rope to secure the rods. Long enough movement is not inhibited, short and light enough I almost don't notice them.
