What would you do?
Curado K Use the remainder for line and top off hard and soft bait inventory. Mike

What do you do to show them 'something different?'
Not much really. The one thing I started doing and having fairly good success with is adding a rattle to a weightless stick bait and to a punch craw. It may be common for some, but I was having a hard time getting bit from the back deck at a B.A.S.S. Nations Pro/Am and tried it. It saved the day and ended up qualifying. Mike

What size weight to use for bass fishing?
Didn’t mean to imply you haven’t. It took me a while to get it where I had enough success and confidence. If I tried doing it with say a trick worm and lighter wire hook, I’d still be working on it to reach the same level. I use a 3 power bait caster with a fairly slow action which helps Mike

Best Knots For Braid Line?
Palomar as never failed me for any braid combo. Mike

What size weight to use for bass fishing?
It’s not that hard once you get the hang of it and your combo is set right. All It takes is a little practice and a quick thumb I pitch weightless senko’s with just a 4/0 hook and it’s heavy enough to get it to where it needs to be. Mike

15 Inch Ribbon Tail Worm ?
I’ve never felt the need to throw anything that big. 10” is the biggest I have. You can try it, ya never know, plus you can keep cutting it down if you have too. Mike

3/16oz vs 1/4oz is there a difference?
I carry 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/2 and 2oz. Those cover 100% of my plastics presentations for both swimming and bottom contact. The vast majority of the time the 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 3/4 and 1 1/2 get the most play. Keep in mind the deepest water I fish in is around 10ft with the majority of the time 2-4ft. My choice of weight is totally dependent on cover, rof is considered but secondary. Mike

Calling all Florida guys.
I’m gonna let this run a little while longer to see if there’s any more interest. I’d like to nail down at least a tentative time and place to give everyone a chance to weigh in and arrange their schedules. Mike

Sure We can go there! There are so many world class lakes to choose from, it’s really going to come down to whatever is the most convenient for the most people. Mike

Straight Fluoro for Texas Rigs
There are more flouro line failures due to kinks and fraying than with knots that are tied correctly. I use the San Diego Jam knot regardless of technique and have never had a knot fail. Mike

Calling all Florida guys.
Sure! Even Seminole’s and Hurricanes Mike

I’m hoping! But Wherever the majority wants to go. Mike

Straight Fluoro for Texas Rigs
I use 20# Shooter and 15# Sniper on both bottom contact flouro setups and have for years, never looked back. Joe If you use a quality product even if it costs a little more, and tie your knot correctly (which I’m sure you do) you won’t even read most of the negative comments you see on here. Mike

Calling all Florida guys.
I’ve been thinking about this for awhile but I’m not getting any younger so here goes ? I’m thinking about organizing a Meet and Greet for anyone interested in putting a face to a name. This is not organized, sponsored or endorsed in any way by Bass Resource, it’s owners, moderators, sponsors, employees or anyone involved in anyway with the site. (I think I covered everybody) It’s just a bunch of like minded fishing friends who’d like to get together, shake hands, swap knowledge, share a meal, raise a glass and maybe even get a little fishing in. As we know Florida is a long state, factor in the panhandle, it’s almost 700 miles end to end. So depending on interest we can pick a central location with the least amount of travel for all. I assume it would need to be on a weekend so folks who still work for a living will have more of an opportunity to attend. I’m also thinking sometime in the fall or early winter when it’s a lot cooler. Sooo, in an effort to gage interest, if anyone thinks that they would like to attend post it and we’ll go from there. New Water
When I first started traveling around the SE on tournament trail’s it was all new water and nerve racking to say the least. If I started earlier instead of waiting until I retired maybe it wouldn’t have been. Florida is full of lakes, more than you might think. But now that I started to stay closer to home for the most part, I tend to hit the same lakes all within a 2-3 hr drive from home. They’re challenging enough. Mike
