  1. That works good too I like using her nylon’s only because the juice doesn’t get absorbed in it and I use a lot less for the same effect. Mike
  2. 2 additional things…. When putting it on while spooling, I found that you’ll use less, and it goes on more evenly throughout the spool by reeling the line through a soaked old nylon. I use it also to wipe down my reels and clean the guide inserts. Mike
  3. It’s one of those things that’s not necessarily necessary if you use a quality product. I use all Sunline and Tatsu flouro and use it anyway. Mike
  4. Put it on while spooling and the night before every outing. Note… If you put it on during a trip, give it time to dry before throwing Mike
  5. Sorry you had a tough day. Istokpoga can be like that some days especially during the heat of summer. It is and has been one of my favorite lakes it just takes time to figure it out. The island in the middle (Bumble Bee) that @Captain Phil mentioned is surrounded by reeds and indentations filled with pads. The channel between it and the smaller island is best in the fall and winter. The south end of the lake is the deepest part averages about 8-10 with deeper holes. If you go back, pick apart the knees of the Cypress trees on the South end (If you see cows wading in there just leave) and fish your way around starting at the marina. Arbuckle and Josephine Creek on the North can be great if you hit right. Mike
  6. Completely Agree! I’ve mentioned this before but folks on this board continually bash flouro for reasons that have nothing to do with the makeup of the line itself so I’ve somewhat given up. Mike
  7. As far as fishing goes there are 2 left on my bucket list… Learn how to fly fish and catch a smallmouth. Mike
  8. There’s a big difference between lab testing and actual on the water, fish on the line testing. Mike
  9. Been using the Palomar for all braid sizes for years and have never had one problem. No line should break when cinching no matter what it is. I’d start over with a new spool. Mike
  10. Excellent! Not that I need or even want a replacement for the 20# Shooter, the 22# will fit nicely. Mike
  11. Mmmm I like that ! Gonna order pack and try those out. Thanks Mike
  12. So the young kid who can’t get a better job yet…. Or the college kid not on a full ride who’s trying to buy books… Or the single Mom… Or the retired guy who is only living on Social Security… None of them deserve a little extra for doing their best to serve you if they may be under educated or partially disabled???? Better yet don’t answer. Mike
  13. Mike L replied to Mobasser's topic in Fishing Tackle
The entire Reaction Innovation product line. Mike
  14. Earlier in this thread I posted one of the plastics I’m throwing now is a 10” Anaconda. Weighted or unweighted. My backup is a 9” Jelly Worm Mike
  15. You didn’t waste any time. You would have if you just junked fished for that hour and hoped for the best. You found out what you needed to know. The next time you go, you’ll be glad you did. Mike
  16. There is another thread about this that was started a few days ago titled.. ”South Florida Bass Shutdown” Mike
  17. Always tip The amount of course is up to you. Most will tip 20% but if your Capt works exceedingly hard and goes out of his way for you, which most will try to do, the expectations increase exponentially. Mike
  18. Ditto Depending on where you’re at, Summer fishing can be the best down here. The thing tho is that more times than not they bite in certain time “windows” better than others. Almost always early and late are prime times when they’re more active. When it warms up concentrate in and around areas of shade and easy ambush points in cooler water. Reef lines, pad fields and especially matted vegetation are ideal. Florida fishing in 90+ deg water in the middle of the day is not the time to junk fish, You gotta “read” your water. You’ll have greater success when you pick your spots, slow down and look for the same things you want… Cooler water out of the sun and an easy meal. Mike
  19. The Trixie Shark has a dual tail like the speed Worm. With the short stubby body and those twin tails churning they just crush it. I’ll let the Brush Hog sink and move. But with the Anaconda I let it sink, twitch, dead stick, twitch, dead stick all the way back. My thing for years has been taking the obvious and reversing it. I like doing something that most don’t do especially in pressured water or with spooky lethargic fish. So far these combinations have worked. Mike
  20. So far all summer it’s been… RI Trixie Shark on top Standard size Brush Hog and 10” Anaconda below. Mike
  21. Her little sister Miss Sunline ain’t no slouch either ? Mike
  22. That’s Great! Congratulations, I love to see this. There’s hope for kids nowadays after all! ? Mike
  23. Point has been made. Most on here have never done what he or other touring pro’s do and probably never will. Nobody on here has the right to judge anyone else’s career choice or how they spend their time. Done Mike
