  1. Thanks fellas She checked both of those of course but was just wondering if anyone here had any personal knowledge of one. Thanks Mike
  2. Good for you? Good for me Mike
  3. Yes Sir I grab it whenever I get a top water blow up and miss, be it a frog, buzz bait or whatever. I use plastics of all shapes and sizes about 70% of the time I’m on the water. I used to use a Texas rigged stick bait as a stand alone also but not so much anymore. I just don’t feel I need too to get bit. But an unweighted stick bait is and has been my best option to get a riled up bass to circle back. Mike
  4. Mrs Mike and I are planning a road trip to Guntersville in May so I can finally take it off my bucket list. We want to stay at a resort or rent a cabin on the lake somewhere where we can also rent a boat for a few days. Anyone know of a place we can try? Thanks Mike
  5. Primarily the scent, that stuff is strong. Also because I only use a stick bait as a follow up, it falls faster than a Senko which for that is what I want. For me there is a definite difference between the 2. Mike
  6. When I feel the need to throw a stick bait, which most times is only as a follow up, I’ll use the Berkeley General before a Senko. That said when I used them the watermelon red was my biggest producer. No idea what the number is. Mike
  7. No reason to upgrade just for the sake of upgrading. If my wife thought like that I’d be a loner a long time ago. Mike
  8. Don’t know much about the 2, but the one I have is one of the originals and over 13 yrs old. I also have it on my frog outfit and use it almost every outing. That thing is bulletproof. Mike
  9. Magnum UV Speed Worm and Scum frog. Mike
  10. I wish you the best. I pray you have a fast recovery and all your plans go exactly how you planned. Mike
  11. Just keep believing it will get better and you’ll be the better for it. Wish you all the best. Mike
  12. I switched to a 715 Mag Heavy Dobyns Kagen for frogs. I was a little leary at first coming from a 735 but it works just fine. Really don’t see much difference at all. Mike
  13. I used Yo Zuri Hybrid for years. That stuff is bulletproof, consistent and cheap. You really can’t go wrong with it. Their line rating is off a bit tho, (12# breaks at 19#) However, personally I went back to 20# Shooter for what you describe. Mike
  14. Specifically water temp which is affected by air temperature. When the air temp is consistently in the low to mid 90’s which it is down here from May to September, the water temperature rises into the high 80’s low 90’s during the day. There are variables of course by region, but down here that’s the norm. Mike
  15. Or your presentations spook them Or it’s too cold or even too hot Or they’re just not hungry. Be stealthy and make quiet entries When all else fails hope to get an reaction bite. Make more than one cast from different angles using more than one type of bait and hope you got her mad enough. Mike
  16. Outstanding! Congratulations Mike
  17. Thier Houdini color is a killer down here. That’s the only color I use for them. When that bite slows and they need a little more thump, try a Big EZ. Mike
  18. Ditto Just got that for light to moderate cover. One of the most lightweight, balanced (Curado K) rods I’ve ever owned. For punching and heavy cover 7’ 4” H/XF Quantum Smoke. Both backed up with a Dobyns Kaden 715C Mag Heavy/F Mike
  19. Wow! Thats Great Enjoy in good health Mike
  20. Which happens to me more with a split grip for some reason even with the same handle lengths. Mike
  21. No it’s not. Seems like a 7’4” is the most popular length for a frog rod like a 7’6” is the most popular for a flipping stick. Popular sometimes isn’t the most comfortable or practical for everyone. Mike
