  1. Great Job!! One of these days I’m gonna take a trip somewhere, anywhere and get my first smallmouth. It’s been on my bucket list far too long Mike
  2. Completely agree!! Mike
  3. Sometimes I still have to do that especially in thick hyacinth. Mike
  4. Nothing small about it!! Great Job Mike
  5. Just regular ‘ol strawberry. Not brand loyal Mike
  6. Misty/light rain and flat seas...Sexy Dog. A light chop and a steady light rain... spinner bait. Anything heavier with rain and waves I’m going in. If I heard thunder before any of that I’m already in. Mike
  7. Yeah they’re bigger, but there was lead before there was tungsten. When people of a certain age group started fishing we used what there was because we didn’t know any better. We did alright. Mike
  8. Congratulations!! Mike
  9. Nope, not necessarily. Some use bobber stop’s above and below the weight using only the main line. Some use the keepers I spoke of the same way. Others use a bead above and/or below the weight. And still others use a swivel and a leader with a bead. Point is there are many different ways Mike
  10. My frog rod will do triple duty whenever I throw the rig again. In the past I used those plastic “ Carolina Keeper” thingies on 50lb Power Pro and they worked just fine. Mike
  11. Ha!! Don’t know about loading the boat, but yeah...Love those things! ? Mike
  12. Not surprising. The rig is not just a deep, hard bottom presentation. Sometimes we all get caught up in thinking...“spinner baits only work if the water is churned up” or “big worms only work in the summer” or the infamous “bass won’t hit a frog after the sun gets over the trees” Thinking back on it now, I’ve had success in the past throwing it but for some reason it just doesn’t occur to me any more to use it. Don’t ask me why Mike
  13. Very rare that I’ll throw that but when I do it’s always a green Zoom lizard. Mike
  14. Raider my Man!! Keep on brother! Mike
  15. I bought one of these also a little while back. It surprised me on how light and balanced it is. Thinking about getting the 6’10 just because. Mike
  16. Culprit 7” Fat Max Mike
  17. June Bug Watermelon red In that order Mike
  18. This is like some folks who make it a priority to match the color of the reel with the rod! Or those who refuse to buy a rod or reel just because of what color it is! Sorry, I just don’t get it Mike
  19. For me it’s a swimming worm. Either a Rage Cut R or a UV Speed Worm. I use either or both every outing. Mike
  20. I have the composite X11 deep diver which I bought sight unseen and recommended by a friend. It’s rated up to 3 oz and surprisingly light. I was gonna sell it but was really shocked when I first got it. I use it for sq bill’s, jerk baits and chatter’s. It really is a good rod. Mike
  21. Skipping and dragging Mike
  22. Mike L replied to Mobasser's topic in Fishing Tackle
We sure do! Never heard that story! Thanks Mike
  23. It’s got to get better for you folks, just has to be!! You and your family are in my thoughts. Keep the faith brother Mike
