  1. My money is on you forgot to shake it up good and not just once to do a bunch of reels. I use Sniper also and never saw any residue or change in color. In my opinion, Sniper and Tatsu really don’t need it but I do it anyway, especially from 16# and up. Mike

Great Job!! Good Luck Saturday Mike
  3. One thing I learned about getting a good hook set using that thing is that when swimming it through grass or anything that it gets hung up on, is don’t stop reeling. When we get hung like with a trap and hit it hard to dislodge it, we just put slack in the line. If you don’t stop reeling after you get it free your hook up ratio may go up. I know mine did. Also, when setting the hook I use a cross body swing set. Mike
  4. When I or anyone I’m with gut hook a fish as illustrated in @Catt response, I’ll try to work it out being careful not to bring it’s throat up past the point where there is resistance. If it’s firmly implanted I will just leave it but cut the shank flush. Then I will check through the gills. If I can see any of the hook and can’t get it out with causing the least amount of damage I’ll cut that also. I figure it’ll have a greater chance of survival with 2 smaller pieces than just one large piece. Mike
  5. Figured... I shake a lot, didn’t know it had a name. Mike
  6. Ok, Ok I’ll bite... What is the “Alabama Shake”? Mike
  7. I’m certainly not smarter than anyone but I’ve never heard that. I don’t use red label for anything but can’t believe it would. It coats the line but Never heard of, or read about any disclaimer. Mike
  8. Sometimes I forget to put the line through the line guide after refilling the spool Mike
  9. No you’re not. For some reason I’m more careful with my “high end” rods than with the reels. Even tho I have covers for them both and store away from anything that can contact them in the garage, I’m always conscience of how I handle and transport them. But that said, I bought it to use it. Does me no good to use something else. Mike

So sorry to hear this. I just wish more people would take it more seriously Mike
  11. I also fish from the rear deck. I use 3600 boxes separated horizontally. One for stick baits, creatures and swim baits/trailers. Mike
  12. That’s great!! You got lucky, just when things look the worst good things happen by better people. I love hearing stories like this. I’m glad everything worked out and you’re safe. Mike
  13. Congratulations and proud to be here!! How many you want ? All of these I’ve fished at one point or another.... Lake Okeechobee Toho St. John’s River Stick Marsh Chickamauga Seminole Rodman reservoir Istokpoga Hartwell Mike
  14. The best way I can explain it is When tying a knot through the eye and pitching though heavy matted vegetation, the hook point can and most times will rotate in the fishes mouth because of accumulated vegetation around the eye which will cause a missed set. (Ever catch a fish with the hooks point barely hooked in the side of the softer membrane of her mouth?) Thats why. A Snelled hook, because it is wrapped around the shank, prevents the balling up of grass on the hook eye which allows it to control the direction of the set which is straight up to penetrate into the top of the mouth where you want it. The “kicking” up of the hook is only achieved when a weight is pegged. Why? Because since the knot is on the shank it gets pulled up straight to the underside of weight and takes the path of least resistance which is out to the side significantly increasing a solid set. Mike
  15. I believe the taste coupled with the smell to a lesser degree, CAN cause a fish to hold on to it just a little longer that CAN allow the angler to set the hook before she spits, IF she wasn’t inclined to bite anyway. For a reaction bite it doesn’t matter, she’s gonna hit it regardless. (3 parts anise to 1 part baby oil) Mike
  16. Personally I’d rather not. ? Mike
  17. A 10yr old BPS Pro Qualifier spoiled with 50# original Power Pro. No idea how much it weighs but balances it darn near perfect. Mike
  18. Good I just bought that thing! ? Got a B.A.S.S. Nations tournament in the morning and gonna put it through it’s paces. Mike
  19. Me too Really interested in hearing how they would compare to our Tatula. Hopefully someone has one to do a side by side comparison Mike
  20. Sure, why not! Any color could work at any time in any colored water. The conventional thinking is in those conditions is to use something lighter. Im sure you know that because you asked the question. The best advise is to don’t get hung up on “conventional” thinking. Try it, and be ready to change up if you know there’s fish and not getting bit. Thats the only way you’ll know. Personally, I put more consideration into size and action than color. Mike
  21. Rage Bug or Sweet Beaver. Mike
  22. I just got the 7’1” MH/XF Tatula with full cork handle. Not the Elite. So far so good Mike
  23. For me it’s the Magnum UV Speed Worm and a Rage Bug. Always have it rigged and an extra bag of each no matter where and when I go. Mike
