  1. Just use what’s working for you. Mike
  2. Exactly! Mike
  3. For some reason I don’t have the same experience. I throw the smaller original ones much more often than the “Pro” style in the heaviest of cover, either in the cheese, pads fields or whatever. Granted, They will roll over if thrown into a fairly stiff wind but don’t think that’s exclusive to the Scum. Still, it’s not enough of a problem to change brands. Mike
  4. They’re the only frog I use. Don’t really care about the paint job. As long as they didn’t mess with the way they’re made I’ll may try one. Thanks Mike
  5. They don’t get a lot of play on here but they are an excellent top water plastic. You’d be surprised what can happen if you swim them once in awhile just below the surface. Mike
  6. Nothing really new. Been using the same baits and techniques for years. I’ve tried a few things but always seem to go back to what I know works. Mike
  7. Braid...Punching, Frogging and on top Flouro...Everything else Mono...Hang pictures on the wall Leaders...Only for salt water fishing Mike
  8. I wonder how many in the 5-7lb range there were. I didn’t watch much, but it seemed every time I turned it on somebody caught one. Sometimes 2 in a row Mike
  9. It was hard to see at times but I think it was a Speed Worm. That and a Cut R are my favorites. I know others were throwing it for sure They finished up just in time. Its gonna be in the low 40’s starting tomorrow night down here. Mike
  10. Another cold front approaching today Mike

    Ditto Mike
  12. There are some knots I won’t even consider for some techniques as there are lines. You’re Good Mike
  13. Never a snap for top water especially frogs and poppers. Loop knot is best but any will work. Most on here will say to use mono but I don’t. I’d rather use braid Mike
  14. That stuff has been around a long time and still one of the most popular. If you believe in scent, it’s worth a try. Mike
  15. Depending where I’m at..,.. Always a Scum Frog or Pop R in fairly calm waters. If not then a Magnum Speed Worm decreasing in size as the day goes on. If I find beds first a white craw. If matted cover then a Rage Bug with or without a skirt Mike
  16. After a day like Friday it takes them few days to stabilize. The day before a strong front they seem a little finicky, the day of the front they can start shutting off and not wanting to move much, but can be caught especially on or near beds. The day after is usually the worse, most times you gotta hit her in head. Mike
  17. Not surprised at all. I’m sure they expected a tough day. It was pretty raw yesterday, Monday that lake will be on fire! Mike
  18. I take all plastics off after every outing. I use Trokar hooks almost exclusively and still do it. If it’s just surface rust on the shaft you can use a file Any place else I toss em. Mike
  19. I haven’t met anyone. ? Mike
  20. Other than punching, The best luck I’ve had on the Lake the last month or so is with a 5” stick bait with a 1/16 unpegged or weightless. I haven’t had a chance to watch, but It wouldn’t surprise me if you guys said they’re pitching them around the edges of the mat’s first working their way in or in between tightly placed isolated clumps of reeds. That was the pattern the last time a front came through. Mike
  21. Using a stick bait for punching because it goes through better is not the main reason. If you have a 1-2 oz weight on the end of your line it doesn’t matter much what you have, it’s gonna get through. It’s a change up to give a different look. I’ll bet he downsized his weight and used it in the lighter covered areas instead of the heavy slop. Just the opposite of what you might think. Mike
  22. I’m sure he tried that a few times already and didn’t get bit. There’s no hard and fast rule about style, shape or color. Mike
  23. There’s a berm that encircles the whole thing, with what is called a rim canal that have locks to enter the big water. It’s like one huge soup bowl. Mike
  24. Weather will stabilize this weekend with highs in low 70’s. They should be able to make it up. There’ll be a few areas today that’s gonna get a little congested. Mike
