Hook set problems with Senko
Sure that's possible. Maybe even probable. But if you're making looong cast's it's also possible you're not able to get a good set because of the mono. Mike

How does this hook remover work?
They work! Almost every salt water fisherman I know or fished with uses one. They work just fine and don't slip Mike

Frogs. Central Florida. When?
Ditto There is no "frog" season down here. I'll throw 'em anywhere there is cover and fairly flat water. Don't be afraid to throw them outside of the normal "frog water" areas either. I've caught many fish where you wouldn't think they would work. Only thing I really look for is shallow grass, either mixed in with other vegetation or submerged. Mike

I tell y'all what!
I've been using flouro for years and I can honestly say I've never noticed any amount of line slap, no matter the brand or strength. Are you using a spinning rod with it? I wouldn't know as I don't use them. As far as the coils, some have an inordinate amount where others have far less. I use Sniper and Shooter and both have it with the Shooter having far more. I attribute that to its make up as it's far less subtle. I know you know this, but useing some L&L all around the spool instead of just in one spot and you won't have that problem. You can use it during the day also but just make sure it dried before casting again. Mike

Estimating Fish Weight Prior to Landing
That's his shtick. He's like a drama queen who needs to scream "hey look at me" so people will connect him with something. As as far as over estimating his catches, he doesn't want the camera guy to turn away. Mike

How is your Curado K holding up?
I bought mine in December and really like it. I have not had any of the problems that other folks seem to have. It's one of the smoothest reels I've ever owned. No difference than the Chronarch Ci4 Even tho I don't use it often, playing with the dial a while will loosen it up nicely. No problem with the thumb bar either. If I did I would just return it. No big deal. Niether of these possible problems would keep me from buying another or 2. Mike

Most difficult techniques?
Any type of light line, finesse type stuff that requires a spinnng rod. Just cant stand fishing that way. Mike

Have you ever caught the biggest fish in the lake?
Smallest maybe, but never the biggest. Mike

Only 11lbs. Drag on Curado DC
Brett A lot of folks thought as you did.. #drag =max weight of fish. As you found out it doesn't work that way. With max this and minimum that, this sport can be confusing sometimes. You're good Mike

Glide Bait (Virginia) 8.3 lbs
Beautiful fish! I bought a sinking Seville Magic Swimmer just because. Don't know if that's considered a glide bait or not as Its double jointed unlike yours, but gonna give it a try anyway. Mike

How should I change it?
I don't use spinning rigs at all, but on my casting set up I use an Owner keel weighted hook with centering pin for my swim baits (either a Skinny Dipper or Big EZ) I don't like a nose hooked paddle tail, I'd rather it fall horizontally. As far as where I throw, it's around, in and through grass and scattered pads dropping into any holes. When using a straight retrieve, I fish it somewhat like a spinnerbait and chatterbait. Speed up, slow down, yo yo etc. until they talk to me. Mike

Junk Fishing!!
To me "junk" fishing isn't a technique, it's just the opposite. Everybody "junk" fishes at one time or another. It's been done since the first line hit the water. If you're using just a few lures to find a pattern what do you do next? Go home and say it was a bad day I'll try again tomorrow? I junk fish every time I go fishing without a preconceived notion of where they're at and a definite idea of what they'll hit. Mike

Favorite Braid For Frogging & Flipping ?
I use 50# original Power Pro for frogs and 80# for punching. Never had a break off at the knot or line but I'm constantly checking both. Never tried an 8 strand as I've never had a reason too. Mike

Getting fish out of cover
There are no real strategies. Sometimes you just gotta go get em. Don't try to get right on top of them, just get within arms reach if they're shallow enough. If not try to bring the wood up if you can. If that don't work all you can do is maneuver around changing your angle and hope for the best. Mike
