I told myself I wasn't gonna reply but.... I use Flouro for everything I throw except for 2 presentations. Honestly, I don't even think about respooling because the line may be stretched. I will if I kink it too far down the spool because I wasn't careful enough digging out a backlash or after many lure changes and the spool gets low. Mike

Growing up my parents had one of those silver metal trees. For lights they had a rotating colored wheel with a 100watt bulb behind it.!! The first Christmas after my wife and I got married she asked what kind of tree should we get, needless to say I ran out and got a real one. That was 48 yrs ago and wouldn't even think about getting a fake one. Its only once a year. Mike

Ron Trust me, Go find something that at least fills your time. You don't have to like it, just something that will help you to leave your thumbs alone. As I said above, I know the feeling when your whole world takes a hard left and you try to get straight again. Your situation is a little different than mine as I made the choice, but it still takes getting used too regardless of the reasons leading up to pulling the plug. You may never get used to it. I've fished 9 mile off and on for over 30 yrs and yes, there are fish there. There's so much more development now than what there were years ago, it's hard to find a spot to fish from the banks. There are a few dam's you can walk across and fish from and at a few intersections where you can walk down to the water. The farther south you go toward Yorkshire Blvd the less pressure there is compared to the north end in the City of North Port. Mike

Every few months this topic comes up, and every few months we get into a discussion about how mono will cure all the ills of world and how flouro is the bane of our existence.. Use a quality product and experiment for yourself..I did and use Flouro for all technique's except 2 and do not have the problems many above seem to have. Mike

I used the Pitzen years ago and never had an issue. But that one extra step for the SDJ is nothing compared to the confidence that the first "locking" step gives. Which btw is what makes it a good knot to use with braid. Mike Mike
