  1. I rinse my hands over the side immediately after release to get the initial slime off. When off the water I use a hand sanitizer before I touch anything. (never while fishing) If they still smell, soap and water or maybe a little Dawn dish soap when I get home will do it Mike
  2. It’s just a smaller point of land within a larger point jutting into the main lake Mike
  3. Never heard of it either It’s gotta be one of those regional terms.. I say Tounament, others say derby I say reeds, others say toulee I say cat tails others say bull rush I say stiff others say “some tip” I say soft others say “some tip” It’s confusin Man!! Mike
  4. At times I’ll bet that’s not that much of an exaggeration! Mike
  5. I’ll bet that was a cool looking worm! It would be interesting to purposefully let 2 colors fuse and get stained like that. Mike
  6. PY…..8.25# Rage Bug (white) sight fished off bed CY…. 7.13# Zoom Magnum UV Speed Worm (june bug) through submerged eel grass PB….11.34# Culprit Fat Max ribbon tail (red/shad) over submerged eel grass Mike
  7. Yes Sir The 4 carrier is perfect for those presentations Mike
  8. Whatever works is always best. I use my thumb 100% of the time during and at the end of all casts and when pitching. Since a mag brake is intended to slow the reel from the apex to before touchdown a mag brake system is useless to me. Mike
  9. I do to a point. I’ve found that people just messin around for a day are mostly honest and won’t purposely lie as opposed to when money is on the line. I’ve also found that most will be more open about an area to fish than what they used which I’d rather have anyway. I remember a few times coming in for weigh in at tournaments my pro’s and boaters would always take everything off their rods before we pulled in. I still do that. Mike
  10. Live Long and Prosper Mike
  11. Thats because of its history as one of the best walking hard baits ever made. The full size Spook is my 1st or 2nd choice almost every time. The only exception is in certain conditions that call for a spitting type one like the Sexy Dawg. I don’t use the Spook Jr as a lot of folks on here do as the original size just seems to catch a higher quality fish for me. Grab one and have some fun Mike
  12. I haven’t used the 832 and really have no reason to at this point. I’ve always used original Power Pro (still do for frogs and punching) until I had an opportunity to use the Smackdown and really like it. I don’t “comparison shop” for anything. Mike
  13. If it’s just a quick in and out just let it air dry as it should be fine. If it’s down for a prolonged time I’d take the spool out and let it dry. As soon as you can give it a rinse with clean water with low pressure. If it’s sticky or sluggish just re oil/grease If it feels like it’s grinding or rough it may have sand or muck in it, in that case gotta tear it down for a deeper clean. Mike

  15. 30# braid is my choice, no leader. Just be mindful of your set and retrieval as you would with any treble hooked hard bait. Another choice would be mono (can’t believe I even typed that) Mike
  16. Spinning Rods and reels Monofilament line I don’t.. Drop, Ned, Shake or Wack Mike
  17. Plastic colors are the last part of my decision process. Time and experience in most scenarios in our home waters is the only way to decide. For me June Bug, watermelon/red and for a certain few red/shad. That pretty much covers it. The only outlier is for sight fishing beds which for those it’s always white regardless of what and how I throw. Mike

  19. This video gets to me every time I see it! Mike
  20. Don’t forget the ones who need us the most.
  21. Point made… Live Long and Prosper Mike
  22. I do the same thing without anything on the wall. Hold the rod in one hand, pull the end of the main line down with the other. Compare the ease of pulling to where on the rod it stops bending. Fool proof Mike
  23. How do you guys find stuff like this! ? Mike
  24. In that case I would encourage you to check into St Croix’s GXR w/Seviin reel combo before purchase anything. Do a quick search as there are a few posts already on here that goes into more detail than I could. I own a casting model that has become one of my overall favorites considering its balance, sensitivity and of course the overall quality build. Mike
