  4. Prayers sent for a complete and total recovery! Mike
  5. This comes up often on here and my opinion never changes. I don't use a leader or use mono for anything. Straight flouro for everything except 2 techniques and do not have the list problems that some of you guys keep posting about. I did at one point but that was years ago. Granted, line conditioner helps for the less expensive brands and you must be careful taking out a backlash. But the overall advantages of it far outweigh the disadvantages both real and percieved.. Try them all if you can and Use what you have confidence in...Opinions are just that. Mike

  10. If it's not Walleye I'm not eating it. Mike
  11. Agree Some of the most violent strikes useing a top water especially a spook or frog, comes after a 30 sec pause then a sideways pull. Mike
  12. I use a punch skirt about 99% of the time. (Almost everyone I know or been with rarely do) I'll spend an inordinate amount of time fishing a single bed. I use Flouro line for all techniques except punching and frogs. Won't use mono line or a leader. Mike
  13. Ahhh he's just a little guy, he won't bother you. Just don't throw a top water anywhere around him or he'll follow you all over the lake. Mike
  14. If there are no line or plastic boxes at the ramp area, just wind it up and stick it in your pocket or bag and toss when you get home. Mike

  17. Me too! I use them for taking out backlashes. It seems @Sam and I are old school. Mike
  18. It's because you have more surface area with a long worm worm attached. Lower your trajectory and experiment with the speed. It'll skip Mike
  19. Best of luck to you!! Mike
  20. Leave the hair alone..You may need it some day! You're useing the right line for your conditions. Where are you breaking off at? I'm not familiar with Silver Thread but if you're breaking off somewhere up the main line it could be you have a nick somewhere that @TOXICand @JustinJ mentioned that can be caused by being too aggressive taking a backlash out, a guide, a bad spool or you're really heavy into the mussels which can tear up piano wire? Folks on here bash Flouro for everything. Again IMHO you're useing the right line for the conditions. Mike
  21. Depends on what I'm doing. If you put a stop above and below the weight and slide it up about 2 ft or so you have a poor mans slip shot or Peaty Rig. In certain conditions that little adjustment can mean fish where a standard T rig pegged or unpegged won't. Anyway, I leave my pegged punch stick stop on all the time. Mike
  22. I've caught bedding fish on most every kind of plastic. Some with tail action and some without, there's no hard and fast rules. (As long as it's white) Sometimes you may have to cycle through a 1/2 doz to get bit. Most times It's not what you're useing but as @WRBposted, it's more about placement and timing both on your part and the fat lady's. Mike
  23. Hello and Welcome Mike
