  1. Hello and Welcome! Mike
  2. That's Great Daddy!! Congratulations! Mike
  3. Personal best... Deep down Isn't that the real reason we spend the time and money we do? If not then why do we even care about what we use, or where and when we use it? If we didn't care about catching the big one, we would still be useing cane poles with a worm on the end, falling asleep leaning on a tree. Mike
  4. It's all about the juice!! Mike
  5. Sure!! Anytime you have different anything within anything different you've found the prime areas to start and finish in heavy cover shallow water. Also, if you don't get bit don't give up on it That's a common mistake that folks make if they're learning. Give it a while and come back and hit them again throughout the day. Mike
  6. Also, look for isolated areas to fish and I don't mean just a clump of grass sitting all by itself. A smaller area of different grasses within a large mat would be my starting point. Flip every foot in and around it. Good Luck Mike
  7. Hello and Welcome! Mike
  8. 7' rod with the highest quality flouro you can afford. Mike
  9. I've used... Small swim bait Twin tailed grubs Fluke But my favorite is a ribbon tail worm Mike

Yes Happy Birthday! I hope you had a great day. Mike
  15. Disipline.... Try not to worry about it. I know that's easier said than done but each time you're on the water it's a different day. You know you can catch fish, but sometimes it's just harder to do just like some days are easier. As Catt said, start off fishing to your strengths useing what you know. The biggest problem tournament anglers have is the preconceived notion that we're good enough to compete with anybody anywhere, until the day comes when we question everything, lose confidence in ourselves and realize we're not. I'm convinced I can compete with anybody in a t rig or punching shootout..I don't care who I'm up against...Why? Because of the times when I couldn't. Fish your strengths, make them stronger..If you do that your weaknesses won't matter. Mike
  16. No difference from season to season, month to month or day to day.. Same areas same baits Mike
  17. Hello and Welcome! Mike
  18. I looking for heavy vegetation. The greenest, thickest stuff on the lake. I'm useing 20# Shooter with a either a 10" worm or Cut R around the edges and 65# power pro braid starting with a 3/4 oz weight and go to punching. Mike
  19. Atta Boy! Great Job! Watch it now, it'll get in your blood and be the only thing you'll want to do. Mike
  20. If you're looking for a baitcaster the best all around one in my opinion is the BPS Pro Qualifier. They're around 100.00 and built like tanks. Can't help with spinning reel, don't use them Mike
  21. The rod is just tool, not the be all to catching a bass. All things being equal a faster action rod CAN increase sensativity but so can useing flouro or braid over mono. It's the combination of all things. Some higher end medium action rods are claimed to be more sensitive than some fact action rods. But in reality it's all in the hands of the beholder. Mike
  22. Buy 100 acres anywhere the boss says and build my own lake the way I want it. Mike
  23. For years I used a 7' because it felt right in my hands and had no complaints. Eventually I got a 7'6", and honestly I can't say with certainty that my catch rate increased because of it. When I need to flip the extra 6" come's in handy sometimes. When pitching it doesn't matter. Mike
