Loomis question
7' MH/f Fenwick Techna AV. That's my all things bottom contact plastic's rod except for punching but it could do that in a pinch. I use that more than any rod I've ever owned and would put it up against anything made today. Mike

Loomis question
It would work just fine for what you want. For me It's perfect for anything weightless and to skip with. I also use it for swimming Cut R's and ribbon tails with no more than a 3/16. Mike

Loomis question
I have one also. When I got it last year, I really didn't like it that much because the taper was a little too soft for my liking. I even thought of selling it, but after useing it for a while it is now my 2nd favorite rod.. You said it exactly right, it fills holes.. Mike

I don't get the trophy icon when you want to react to a post...What does that mean?? You hit the heart icon twice to like a post..once to open it and again to record it..Right??? The 3 "faces" I think I get I looked in the update area but didn't see where all this was explained. Thanks Mike

When to throw a do nothing bait versus a bait with alot of action
Hello and Welcome That's why they call it fishin and not catchin...Noone knows what they're gonna want or how they're gonna want it on any given day, or in any given spot. The only way to know for sure is to look in and around the water, and make the best decision you can based on what you see, and go from there. Guess right, Great! Guess wrong, that's ok too... Watch, Look and Listen to what they're telling you. There's a lesson to be learned everytime you get bit Good Luck Mike

Better to be a specialist or a generalist?
I consider myself a specialist in 1 or 2 techniques, a generalist in most, and a novice in a few. Not a novice because I never tried them, but because it never made sence to me to use a technique that I'm not the least most profient in. Sure I can take the time and learn everything I can and maybe be successful at times. But I believe if I can work harder to make my strengths stonger and have a level of success equal to a higher standard than just doing ok with others, in the long run, my chances for overall long term success is increased than by being a "generalist" with modest success. It works for me Mike

Gambler Big & Bigger GZ Swimbaits-What size Hook?
For the regular sized EZ (not the swimmer) I use a 1/4 oz keel weighted 5/0 Owner twist lock hook w/ centering pin but not too crazy about it. When I want to use an under spin I use a 6/0 Gambler Duz-it. To me there is no reason to nose hook them regardless of the size. When I kill it, I want it to fall natural. Ok back to the hook. A 5/0 for the current standard size is a little on the small side for my taste, but I've been successful with it so I keep useing them for now. With a weighted keel hook I'd rather use a 6. For those big ones, which I probably won't use, I'd be starting at a 6 and probably ending up a 7. Check Gamblers site they may recommend what to use. Good Luck Mike

what you remains to know about bass fishing?
Gonna get philosophical... As much as I think I know about how to catch a bass, the more I realize that there is so much more I don't know We're constantly trying to find an edge in our equipment and baits, to satisfy a desire to match wits with a living being with a brain, who has an inherent aversion to being captured. "What remains to know about bass fishing"? No matter how much we learn or how much we think we know, we will never have all the answers.. Honestly, I hope I never do. Mike

- What's Your Nemesis?
You're right! I think we all find ourselves doing the same thing from time to time. When you have to resort to junk fishing because you're at a loss of what to do, where, how, and with what to do it with, it just makes you want to pack it in. At least it does to me. Mike- Scott Martin

- Am I Cursed?
You're not cursed. Welcome to the wonderful world of bsss fishing. Sometimes it's a little like a search and destroy mission. Try hunting in more advantageous areas as A-Jay suggested. You gotta find 'em before you can hook 'em Mike- Wading for big bass
There isn't a body of water in the entire state of Florida that I would wade in. Be it a Lake, river or ditch. ? Mike - What weight sinker do you most commonly use to Texas Rig?
