Fluorocarbon Questions.
I use Flouro for everything 14# to 20# except punching and frogging and love it. I too have gone though a few and finally settled on Sniper and Shooter. I use Yo Zuri for backing but anything will work, using more for bottom contact presentation's and less for moving baits. The trick with flouro is to start out using a premium product. If more people did that the bad rap it gets would be a lot less. Some can be expensive but the advantages far outweigh the "quirks" (for lack of a better term) that it has compared to braid and even mono, which I won't use. Mike

Flipping/Pitching weight backwards compatible
The only difference in the 2 is the so called "flipping weight" has a slightly more pointed end to it.. It's marketing, plain and simple. I flip and pitch based on the weight I want to use. The shape of the point in your example is meaningless. Mike

Good tip that I'll definitely try for other plastics as I never throw those down here because every picture I see or article I read, they're rigged with the hook exposed which I guess gives them the spiral fall that they're noted for. Down here with all the grass filled lakes I fish I'd be hung up on every cast. I know the answer is to texpose, but then they'd be like any other small compact plastic. Thanks Papa Mike

No luck today.
That's why they call it fishin.... it happens to all of us from time to time. I agree with Brian.. They could be tight to cover or tight to the bottom, or just sat there and watched your bait swim by and look the other way. When conditions change they can do also. You could go back the next day and catch another 40+ Mike

Line manufacturers read!
If loading a baitcaster the line comes off the top of the spool. Spinning reel from the bottom. Mike

Gambler big ez hookups
The only swim baits I use are Big EZ's and Skinny Dippers. The only thing I do different than you is I use 20# Flouro I rig and set the same way. The slot on the EZ's are deep enough that you shouldn't have to Tex pose the point. Just give them time to load and pull! You may not be doing anything wrong. They could just be swiping at it, or could be blue gill. I really don't see what you're dong wrong. Mike

Leaving Fish to Find Fish. When to stay/go?
If you target small fish to fill a limit thats what you can end up with. You'll be chasing the rest of the day for that one bite and more times than not you won't find it, and all you did was waste hours running all over to areas that "look good" checking your watch every 10 minutes. Then what happens?...You start to press and junk fish, and before you know it you're kicking yourself as you head in wondering what could have been. I learned a long time ago that when money is on the line NEVER leave fish to find fish...ever Mike
