Same line for everything???
You can as the previous posts said. But If you throw frogs for example mono or Flouro would not be the best choice. So to answer your question, braid would be the only line I would use if I had to choose only one. The rods action, drag and hook set should be considered and adjusted I use Flouro for everything except anything on top. For those it's braid. And don't even consider mono for anything. Mike

Best knot for monofilament and fluorocarbon line
I see you're new here and glad to have you. One thing tho, don't ever think that by giving your opinion and sharing what works for you is "not much help". Too many new guys feel that way. We're all here to help in our own way, share what we know, or hopefully learn what we don't. Anyway...Welcome Mike

curiosity about fishing fluke style baits...
I hook belly down also which I think is the way it was designed to be, but it's one of those plastics that have a 1/2 dozen effective options. I rig with a 1/32 nail weight just behind the head on a 4/0 skip gap hook on a casting setup with 14lb flouro. Mike

Pitching 20 pound invisx with an 1/8 oz weight
It is not overkill. I use 20# Shooter for most t rigged plastics in fairly heavy to moderate cover weightless up to 1/2 oz. The action is not affected, and in some instances it's an advantage. Mike

Pitchin Questions
Your distance is fine. But accuracy is everything when pitching and of course flippin. Control your spool with your thumb and use a weight heavy enough to reach where you want to go which will minimize the line getting loose on you. Down here, especially on Okeechobee, I use 65# braid to punch with a minimum 3/4 oz weight (I know some guys who wont use anything less than 80#) and 20# Flouro with a minimum of 1/4 oz for the more scattered area's. What line for Shimano Curado?
On my 200E I use 20# Flouro, on the I 16# for the same presentations. You'll get more suggestions to use braid with and without a leader on this board, but for what you want to use it for all would work. Flouro to me would be the best choice. Braid with a leader a far...very far distanced 3rd. Your waters should be the deciding factor. Mike

How do you choose a search bait
As you can tell there are no hard and fast rules...Each body of water is different but all have the same qualities. You just have to make an educated decision based on conditions. If you're in deep water..a deep diving crank, slow rolling a spinnerbait, drop shot etc. Shallow water....Jig, plastic, chatterbait, swim bait etc. If its windy, throw a spinnerbait If its calm, throw top water If in pads and heavy vegetation, frog or t rig plastic Etc Etc You just gotta try one, then the other, then the other, then the other. When was the last time!
At a tournament. My boater had a " bay boat" the kind a lot of salt water fisherman have down here with a center console that has rod holders on both sides. The rods are stored vertically and there is no rear deck. I couldn't make a side arm cast all day without going to the far corner and looking behind me, bring the lure almost to the tip to start my back swing which of course severely limited casting distance. So I was throwing over head bomb cast's all day but this one time I forgot about his rods sticking up 7ft in the air, 5 ft from me and...Bam! I hit a rod, the spinnerbait hook latched onto the line of one his which pulled it out of the holder! His rod almost went overboard if it wasn't for the hook holding it in. About a 1/4 of my spool exploded! Mike
