  1. Assuming you're asking about hollow body paddle tail's...I've been useing 30# braid for years down here and have no reason to change. Mike
  2. You want a stick bait that is proven to be the most versatile, relatively inexpensive, has a history of success all over country regardless of climate, lake conditions, and yes even species?? Get yourself a bag of Sluggo's..You can thank me later Mike
  3. Seems like there are a BUNCH of Cub fans there. Mike
  4. Yezh...I know (;
  5. Cubs in 5...Book it ! Mike
  6. I have 1 reel spooled with 20# Floroclear and like it alright...It's ok but I MUST treat it with conditioner (I use L&L) before any outing or it will coil up really bad.. Also, be very careful when trying to pick out a backlash, very carefull! It tends to knick up more than any other I've used and I've used a lot. Knot strength is right up there with the best of them. (I use the so called "No Name" on any flouro over 16#) It will stretch of course but not overly so to cause me a concern.. If you get hung up and pull Hard it will cause a weak spot as other flouro's will, but with this line it is more pronounced..You can tell where it broke it's "bond" by just looking at it. Would I buy it again..No.. But learning how to use it, it's not bad enough to take it off just yet. Mike

  12. With the quality and selection of trailers available now a days pork has lost a lot of it's popularity. But it does have some die hard fans still. When I think about pork trailers, Sluggo's, in line spinners etc. all the stuff I grew up on, and then I hear and read about all the "new and improved" products that have come out, it's make me wonder how I ever caught a fish "back then" Sorry, you made me feel little nostalgic Mike
  13. I've tried different trailers over the years...Pork, Paca craws, Beavers, Brush Hogs and more recently Rage Craws, Menace and Rage bug's on differnt styles and colors of jigs. I honestly can't say 1 is absolutely the best combo every time. I know what you're looking for...I wish there was one be all, end all but I haven't found it...Gotta just keep trying different ones until you find what works on what on any given day. Mike
  14. Best of luck with your surgery. I had a spinal fusion 4 yrs ago and know how it feels. Once it's over and you're pain free it's like you were given a whole new life. Prayers sent for a successful surgery and quick recovery. Mike
  15. Open water....7' Loomis MBR 843C GLX with a Chronarch 100SF reel spooled with 14# Sniper. Up close...7' mh/f Fenwick Techna AV with a Curado E reel spooled with 30# braid. No need for a leader. Mike
  16. I likin froggin in heavy cover and punching mat's to the hand to hand combat senario in all of fishing. You gotta fight 'em but you're gonna lose if you give 'em just a small opening. Hook 'em and get them out of there. This ain't senko fishin with mono line! Mike

  21. I assume you're useing a minimum 50# braid..If so you need to get thier head up as fast as you can..Don't just set the hook and try to fight her out of there..more times than not they'll get off which is what is happening. I fish pads almost every outing, so thick you'd think you can walk across it. If you let them stay down, or worse yet go deeper you'll just have motor over and dig her out. Set the hook, head out of the water and skim her acroos to you..Or go get her..Those are your only choices. Mike
  22. 16# flouro or 65# braid depening on cover. What I tie on doesn't matter. Mike
