  1. Please do. I have 3 Phenix's that I use almost every time on the water and really like them all for what I use them for. Mike
  2. Someone a lot smarter than me will be along shortly. Mike
  3. I do it also and haven't had a problem. As was said 1/8 more will be ok. BUT, I don't know where the limit would be, I assume there would be one. Someone a lot smarter than me will be along shortly. Mike
  4. Agree, 2 oz is a huge amount of weight to add to get a rod, any rod, to balance. There really has to be something special about it. And if there were I'd probably just put it somewhere and not use it. That's one reason why I won't buy a rod I'm interested in site unseen or unfelt (is that a word?) Mike
  5. Owner twist locks whenever and wherever I can depending on the size of the bait I want to tie. Otherwise I use the skip gap style. Between those 2 there's no need to use any other type of seperate anchor. Mike
  6. 60# braid for punching 15# floro for moderate to scatterd grass 20# floro on dedicated jig rod regardless of cover Mike
  7. Zoom only for trick worms and flukes Reaction Innovations only for beavers and Skinny Dippers Rage for all others Mike
  8. Owner for twist locks and weighted hooks. Gammy for all others Mike

    Ditto x2
  10. Ya know, I have too. I set the dail on 2 and put 2 brakes on when I first got it and haven't needed to even think about adjusting either. Mike
  11. Ya know, there's so much contiuous commotion going on with a buzzer, more so than any other topwater I throw, I never gave too much thought into picking just the right color. Night or day. Then again I don't throw it much either. Mike
  12. Very well written Kyle, Nice job! I saw myself in there. Mike
  13. Don't know what knot you're useing, but any knot that is tied with the tag end wraped around the mainline....Sand Diego Jam, Uni, Trilene etc. The wraps need to be parallel to each other, not stacked. Then when it's wetted and pulled, you shouldn't need glue or another knot to hold a knot (except maybe an arbor if you use it) My opinion, but if it works for you... Mike
  14. SDJ for floro and poly lines. Mike
  15. Can't really add anything of substance that hasn't been already said other than if I find myself needing another baitcaster, it will be another I. No need to shop and compare anymore. Mike
  16. Eddie, no reason for your first statement. (Completely agree with your 2nd) The man was giving his opinion which everyone else did. If you disagree fine, no problem, take it or leave it alone. That's my opinion Mike
  17. I use the Berkley Power brand also. Latley I've been useing the "stupid rig" rigging with a 5/0 internal weight. It really works great flipping into all the vegetation down here, and with some girls moving onto beds now, it's gonna get crazy real fast! Mike
  18. See how far I can go fishing in National tournaments without embarrassing myself. Mike
  19. Ditto!! Plus you all be carefull out there Mike
  20. Just a suggestion, if you're intent on useing it for bass try a Mh/F Shimano Teramar Inshore rod. Mike
  21. You guy's crack me up!! Mike
  22. These are what I use. I don't think the flexible hook shaft is stupid tho. If you get a big jumper with any size to her, you're gonna be glad that shaft has a little give to it. It has been proven to me more than once. The only problem I've had with it tho is when you get a light hit the hook will shift on you. When you set the hook do it with a sideways slide with some authority. The advantage of keeping a heavy jumper on outweighs the chance of the shaft shifing and losing a hook up. Doesn't happen as much as you would think. Mike
  23. For me it's a 7ft mh/f Fenwick Techna A/V w/Curado E7 and 15# Invisex. I'm probably gonna re spool with 12# or 15# Tatsu and try it. Mike
