  1. I’m staying home. The problem is I may not be able to get back. After a direct hit and being in the eye of both Charlie and Ian and being just outside of Debbie and Helene we’re as ready as I can be My daughter who lives on the Peace River just inside of Charlotte Harbor is my concern. She is still rebuilding from Ian over 2 yrs ago. All you guys down here do what you need to do now, don’t wait. Milt’s comin and he looks pi**ed off Be Safe Mike
  2. Yeah, but I still have my own teeth and a full head of hair!! As long as somehow you’re both together does it really matter how? Mike

  5. Gets no better than that Papa!! You will never forget it I still remember when I took my first. And he’s 30yrs old Mike
  6. Placid has been great the last month or so. I was last there in August and did very well. And then there’s Okeechobee. Let me know if and when you plan to go as things change fast this time of the year and I’ll help you out as much as I can. Mike
  7. Ditto!! Mike
  8. Also, read everything they give you and read it again. Vast majority of company’s are fair and will give you the support as long as you hold up your end, a few not so much. I suggest you hook up with a reputable and at least a regionally known company. One of the things I’ve learned is that you will get out of it what you put into it regardless of the specific details of your agreement. Mike
  9. The last sentence is key. It’s best to send a resume to the marketing division of the company’s you’re interested in representing. Mike
  10. Any of you guys go down to the Stick lately? More interested in access. Tournaments are about to start and one trail is thinking about bypassing HW entirely. Thanks Mike
  11. The warning was and is directed at all members who insist on using the forum to make demeaning and insulting comments to each other. That will end. I hope you find an amicable solution to your problem. (Not a Marine, just a Proud American) Mike
  12. Wow ! Looks like a wonderful trip!! Great Job Mike
  13. LAST WARNING Stop personal attacks to members Mike
  14. Baltimore did a good job but not as dominant as what Tampa did to Philadelphia, and I’m not a Tampa fan at all. Mike
  15. Agree If you can see what you’re trying to catch gotta make it worth your while. Better off leaving and finding what you’re looking for Now, say there were bigger ones corralling the ball, there most likely be a few below it waiting for an easy meal. Thats who I would try to pick off by throwing a bright colored joint hard bait, a white fluke with chartreuse tail etc. Something that looks a little different, stunned or injured and let if fall farther away by itself but still close enough to gain attention. I wouldn’t spend much time but it’s worth a shot. But that’s me. Mike 👍👍👍👍
  16. Hey, those without power! Almost everyone I know down here has a portable generator. I already spoke with family and some friends that If you want I can make the rounds and pick up maybe 4 or 5 of them and meet one of you guys somewhere in Central Florida who maybe can shuttle them farther north. Most will be enough to run your refrigerators, lights and small appliances. Let me know, it will take a day or so to round them all up. Mike

Fish long enough and It happens to everybody. Don’t believe them if they say it didn’t Mike
  18. We look for clues and tells Two different things. Why else did you stop where you did, and use what you tied on? Taking advantage of what you’re seeing and putting those pieces together is the recipe for success. But when nothing tells you anything and you set the hook because it just feels right sometimes that’s the best feeling of all. Mike
  19. One of the most exciting things that happens is when you’re throwing a frog in a pad field, a prop bait in scattered grass or a Magnum Speed Worm over topped out vegetation. Then out of the corner of your eye about 20ft away you notice a pad move down or the grass is pushed just slightly to the side. You stare at it for 3 seconds and realize its getting closer. You grab the rod a little tighter, your reel hand tenses, you breathe faster, you plant your feet harder on the deck all the while never taking your eyes off whatever’s coming towards you. You don’t even watch the bait anymore. Then nothing. No movement. Everything is still, while your whole body tenses up. You see the splash but don’t hear it, you hold your breath and BAM!! Yeah, you’ll know Mike
  20. So glad you guys are good especially what it could have been. We’re good also. I lost a few soffits and got a bunch of tree debris to clean up. We had 3 tornado warnings in a matter of minutes as 3 water spouts came ashore when the wind changed direction when the eye got nearer to Tampa. The closest was 1/2 mile away but haven’t heard if any touched down. Everything for me is compared to Charle and Ian last year. Compared to those we got nothing from this. Mike
  21. Congratulations!! Nothing Better!! Mike
  22. We just had our 3rd tornado warning One was 1/2 mile away. The bands are moving through at 60mph!! All you guys Stay Safe Mike
  23. Darn close to what it’s like in a Cat 2 and worse as it gets bigger All you guys in the Panhandle and So Georgia and Alabama. Stay Safe.
  24. Oh Yeah! it’s been gusting to about 30-40 for the last hour or so not much rain tho. The wind just started to change direction Expecting gusts to 60 by 6:00. Lee County barrier Island had one clocked at 80! It comin this way. Theres 20ft seas on Charlotte Harbor (5 miles from me) and 30-40 ft about 20 miles off shore. Thanks for checking Mike
  25. You’re not alone. I’ve been known to alter most at one time or another. Mike
